Torching Teslas to Save the World

4.2 MINS

Up until a few weeks ago, progressive activists were buying Teslas to save the planet. Now, they’re burning them.

This dramatic about-face is perfectly sensible if you see the underlying logic.

The biggest threat to the survival of our species is no longer a climate apocalypse, you see, but fascism. And the biggest Nazi of all is Elon Musk, whose most successful company is Tesla.

Ergo, the Teslas must burn — never mind the carbon dioxide, methane or nitrous oxide emissions, so long as Hitler reincarnate is defeated.

If you think I’m exaggerating the scale of Teslanacht, read on.

Left-wing activists have torched Teslas at a service centre in Las Vegas, a showroom in Kansas City, and a neighbourhood in Seattle. Incendiary devices were also found in an Austin, Texas showroom.

Cybertrucks and other Tesla vehicles have been vandalised in further incidents in New Orleans, Newtown, Pennsylvania, Dedham, Massachusetts,  and Wichita, Kansas — the latter belonging to a disabled woman.

(Ironically, many of these attacks were caught on film by the Teslas themselves, thanks to Sentry Mode — a built-in camera system designed to monitor the car’s surroundings).

But that’s not even the worst of it.

In Salem, Oregon, an activist with an AR-15 threw eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership. Molotov cocktails were also the weapon of choice in Tesla attacks in Loveland, Colorado, and Charleston, South Carolina. Incidentally, the Charleston activist got more than he bargained for, accidentally setting himself on fire in the process.

The attacks have even spread to Canada, where 80 Tesla vehicles were vandalised at a service centre in Hamilton, Ontario. Australia has also seen at least one act of Tesla vandalism.

And in case you were wondering: yes, graffitied swastikas and other Nazi messaging has been a recurring theme in many of these attacks, and others besides — in California, New York, Washington, Utah, Maryland, Wyoming, North Carolina, Florida, London, Berlin, Belfast, Barcelona, The Hague… need I go on?

The carbon footprint of all this left-wing activism is enough to make Greta Thunberg cry. So it’s worth asking, does this tawdry Tesla tantrum even have a point?

Shy of convincing Elon Musk to repent of his Nazism (which is a tough task indeed, since he isn’t a Nazi), it seems the aim of these violent agitators is to intimidate Musk, scare Tesla owners, deter future buyers, inflict financial pain on the company, and tank its stock price, all in one fell swoop. They’re also counting on a good dose of amplification from the media and Democrats to achieve these sinister goals.

And it’s working. As The Daily Declaration’s James Macpherson has pointed out, failed Vice Presidential contender Tim Walz gleefully celebrated Tesla’s stock plunge before a crowd of cheering supporters last week.

Never mind that Tesla is one of America’s largest companies, employing over 120,000 workers. Never mind that Walz is governor of a state whose board of investment holds 1.8 million Tesla shares to help fund its aged pensions. Never mind that Walz issued his taunt the same day Elon Musk’s other company rescued two American astronauts left stranded in space by the Biden administration for the better part of a year.

Who cares? Torch the Teslas!

Walz and his merry band of arson sympathisers are still sore about President Trump appointing Musk head of DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency) where he’s on a campaign to stamp out fraud, waste and abuse throughout the federal government.

Strangely enough, Democrats were all on board with cutting fraud, waste and abuse until Trump re-took office.

While Musk’s critics panic over DOGE supposedly slashing Social Security and Medicare — neither of which has happened or is even planned — their real concern seems to be the dismantling of a vast NGO network that quietly funnelled billions in taxpayer dollars to their pet left-wing causes.

In other words, their money has dried up and Elon Musk is the scapegoat.

Nor do they believe their own nonsense about Musk being a Nazi. As the National Review put it:

Elon Musk wants to balance the budget; Hitler wanted to murder mentally ill people.

Elon Musk seeks to root out fraud from the federal government; Hitler sought to eliminate the supposed malign, pervasive influence of the Jews.

Elon Musk believes that we need to enforce the border and welcome talented foreigners into the United States in abundance; Hitler believed he had to conquer Europe and “cleanse” the East of Untermenschen.

Elon Musk makes trolling posts on X; Hitler made a “prophecy” that if war came, it would bring “the annihilation of the Jewish race in Europe.”

Even so, the Teslas keep burning — but the strategy is backfiring in a big way.

A new Attorney General is in town, and Pam Bondi is not afraid to call the campaign of chaos exactly what it is: domestic terrorism.

Not “domestic terrorism” with scare quotes, as the fake news media is spinning it. Just plain old domestic terrorism — according to the FBI’s own longstanding, textbook definition: illegal, dangerous acts meant to intimidate civilians or influence government.

The FBI has now launched a task force to combat the wave of Tesla violence, and has already identified 48 incidents and is threatening up to 20 years in prison for the severest offences.

Meanwhile, Tesla’s stock price is rising again.

And Democrats’ approval rating is plummeting — now as low as just 26 per cent, according to Rasmussen.

As the smoke clears, the Left is learning it’s their reputation that has gone up in flames.

Maybe it’s time to go back to saving the environment instead of torching it?

Thanks Kurt for keeping us fully informed , not the usual Leftist spin. Keep doing the good work , Elon, cutting money to NGOs= money going to Terrorist groups . Nothing but Domestic Terrorism to harm Trump Administration. Wish I had money to buy Shares now like I did in 1987 Crash when I bought some for 5 cents( no Capital Gains Tax then). I, a widow with small children to support ,made a “killing “when I sold them -they paid off my mortgage!
