Watch The Chosen Season 5 on the Big Screen!
The Chosen Season 5 is releasing in cinemas across Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji on Thursday, 10 April, for one week only. Make the most of this faith-building opportunity and invite your friends and family to this enthralling retelling of Jesus’ final week.
One of our favourite roles at the Canberra Declaration is promoting uplifting, high-quality Christian art. The Chosen is no exception!
Now in its fifth series, The Chosen continues to exceed all expectations. As one reviewer wrote,
“The fifth season premiere is great, and the best opener to a The Chosen season yet…
“This show has created the gold standard for portraying Jesus on screen, balancing the goodness and authority of his divine nature with the warmth and likability of his human side.”
Season 5: Releasing Thursday, 10 April
We are excited to let you know that the latest production – Part One of The Last Supper – is releasing in cinemas across Australia, New Zealand and Fiji this Thursday, 10 April.
But, it will only be shown for one week. So, to avoid disappointment, make sure to book your tickets as soon as possible.
Watch as Warwick introduces this brilliant instalment of The Chosen (yes, he’s seen it!), as well as the official trailer, in the video below.
The Chosen Continues its Staggering Impact
As the title “The Last Supper” suggests, series 5 presents the final few days of Jesus’ life before His gruesome crucifixion on a Roman cross. It includes His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, His confrontation with the Jewish leaders in the Temple, and His last Passover meal with His chosen disciples.
And this latest offering does so incredibly competently. As another reviewer put it, series 5 “made a triumphal entry into the theatres” in the USA – grossing $11.7 million on its first weekend there. This made it the third-most-popular film at the US box office during that period!
As this was the top-grossing theatrical instalment for the series, it’s clear that The Chosen continues to go from strength to strength.

The stats on The Chosen are truly remarkable. Season 5 has received an incredible 99% rating based on the views of 2,500 people on Rotten Tomatoes.
In addition, multi-series film is the largest crowd-funded film project ever produced. Viewers have unreservedly backed the series with their donated money.
Staggeringly, an estimated 280 million people from 175 different countries have viewed The Chosen since its first release in 2019.
An Opportunity the Church Must Not Miss
Most importantly, about one-third of these viewers have yet to put their faith in Jesus as Messiah and Lord. The Chosen has proven to be one of the most effective ways of presenting the story of Jesus to those who are not normally engaged with it.
The release of The Chosen in 116 cinemas across Australia provides a fantastic opportunity for the Australian Church to share Jesus’ world-shaking, civilisation-making, and coming kingdom-proclaiming message!
Strategically released during the Easter season, this is a time on the calendar when people are more likely to think about the spiritual significance of this holiday period than at other times of the year.
The number of people going to a church gathering also increases – often significantly – during the Easter (and Christmas) periods. In addition to inviting someone to your local church this season as we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, why not also buy them a ticket to The Chosen?
We need not wait for a more opportune time. As William Booth (the founder of the Salvation Army) both biblically and crisply pointed out, “I am not waiting for a move of God; I am a move of God.”
Where to Book Tickets for Your Friends and Family
Find a cinema near you and purchase tickets for your family and friends who don’t know Jesus! How will they know about this movie unless you tell them? Become the move of God your family and friends are waiting for by clicking the orange button below!
Finally, while Part One of The Last Supper releases this week (Thursday, 10 April), Parts Two and Three will be released on 10 and 11 May. So watch this space for more exciting news about The Chosen next month!
Yours for quality Christian art for the glory of God and faith in Jesus,
