Sussan Ley Liberal Party

The Winner of the Liberal Leadership Ballot is… One Nation!

The Liberals are done. Yesterday’s leadership ballot confirms it.

By appointing Sussan Ley as leader, the Liberals have decided to continue fighting Labor by being Labor-lite.

That’s a sure-fire recipe for years in opposition.

If people want socialism, they’ll vote for the genuine article, not a watered-down version.

Australia needs a genuine conservative party. But Sussan Ley will not deliver that.

Sussan Ley: Modernising the Liberal Party

Ley told journalists she intended to “modernise” the Liberal Party. Whatever that means.

She said

“We need to change, the Liberal Party must respect modern Australia, reflect modern Australia and represent modern Australia.”

Respect, reflect and represent… if alliteration is a qualification for leadership, she has it in spades.

But what on earth is she talking about?

Modern Australia voted this month to reward a party that has done nothing but lie while handing out freebies as the budget numbers turn red.

Is that what Ley means by respect?

Modern Australia also voted to continue dismantling our energy grid in pursuit of the Net Zero unicorn.

Will Sussan Ley’s very modern Liberal Party reflect and represent that?

The Liberals will be led by Malcolm Turnbull in a dress. You don’t get more modern than that.

Ley is, of course, the first woman to lead the Liberal Party. Which is very exciting for those who care desperately about diversity, equity and inclusion.

My fear is that the Liberal Party does care about DEI. Which, again, is why they are nothing but Labor-lite.

Ley is also the first leader of any party to have changed her own name in order to comply with the mystical laws of numerology. Woohoo.

Liberals Need Refreshing, Not ‘Modernising’

The fact is that the Liberals needed a complete refresh, one with risk but also based on values and meritocracy to show that they had truly got the message that they must provide an alternative to an ineffectual government, not a lighter version of that government.

Ley is not the answer.

For the record, I didn’t think Angus Taylor was either.

Both represent, at best, more of the same.

The answer lay with Hastie, Patterson, O’Brien, Price and a few others. Therein lies the future.

Sadly, the future is on hold when our county can least afford it.

Jim Chalmers

Treasurer Jim Chalmers described the Liberal leadership contest as “a battle of the duds”.

Talk about graceless in victory.

But to be fair, Jim Chalmers would be an expert on picking duds. He sits next to plenty of them in the Labor cabinet.

Chalmers, who wants six years to fix the nation’s productivity, should be careful who he labels a dud.

He should also be careful insulting so many people who did not give their primary vote to Labor.

Arrogance and hubris have no place in a government that is expected to govern for all Australians.

Speaking of arrogance and hubris…

Monique Ryan Wins Seat

Teal Monique Ryan, has retained her seat of Kooyong, and dedicated herself to keeping Labor honest.

The only thing funnier than that are the Kooyong Karens who voted for her.

She said it was important to have an “effective opposition”.

Um, how often did Monique Ryan vote with Labor and the Greens during the last term?

And if, perchance, she really is serious about keeping keep Labor honest. May I ask how?

I’m not sure anyone in Labor will even bother to talk to her.

Labor don’t need, want, or care about her vote. She might as well have a three-year holiday at taxpayers’ expense.

Oh wait, she’s already done that once.

Australia Needs Good Policy, Not Gender Quotas

Most of the papers reported Sussan Ley’s ascent to leadership of the Liberal Party as…

“ … becomes first woman to lead the Liberal Party.”

Whatever. Do we really care?

The country needs good policy, not the correct gender.

Laborites will, of course, wonder how it has taken to long for the Libs to finally have a female in the leader’s chair.

But don’t forget the ALP has only ever had one female leader.

As I recall, she stabbed a sitting PM in the back to get the job, which she then lost after being stabbed, in turn, by the man she deposed.

I have just prayed, not alone, that all arrogance in parliament will be ended and replaced with the deep fear of God. Let’s pray earnestly for our newly elected politicians, their staffers and the bureaucrats running the country, for vessels to be raised up there who will speak the Word of the Lord with boldness, that the Holy Spirit will convict of sin, judgment and righteousness, and that souls will be saved in our nation’s capital and governance and govern for HIS Glory.

Today one of my readings was the small book of the prophet Joel. It struck me how the first chapter could be a commentary of our predicament as a nation, our so-called leaders have sold out and ruined our once prosperous nation (the chewing, swarming, crawling and consuming locusts). Most people couldn’t give a flip about this either as long as they can drink their beers and watch their sportsball contests.
We who know and see what’s happening weep and mourn for our country, and cry out to the LORD. But His day is coming but not before the nation is completely destroyed and overrun by enemies.
All we can do, I believe is to continue to preach the good news and make disciples as commanded by Jesus and His church will continue to grow and prosper amid worsening tribulations, persecutions and trials.

Sussan Ley , what a dud , in my opinion! Well put — “Turnbull in a dress “! Am not impressed by her belief in numerology , or, that she has a pilot’s licence. Neither make a good Leader ! Commonsense and a return to Menzies’ Liberal Values is what is needed, not Superstition and taking advice from Penny Wong telling her that the LNP is” too Right Wing ” and must move to the Centre (ie to the Left ).Only idiots follow advice from their rivals !The Liberals will be in Opposition forever . Senator Alex Antic is another Liberal who would make a great Leader. Instead, we have a bunch of failed, recycled old hacks who gave the Liberal Party it biggest defeat in history , and, are bent on repeating the same mistake again and again . IDIOTS !

The liberal party is full of wok people. Ley is my local member and is useless. A local left wing independent gave her preference to the Labor party and won many voting booths against ley.

Another dud is Senator Hume. She couldn’t say what a woman is and supports 100 carbon targets, a physical impossible. Even wok
former British PM Blair who gave his country this insanity now admits it is impossible.

The Chinese open 5 more coal generators a week. We blow ours up so they can’t be restarted and replace reliable cheap power with intermittent solar and wind. The increasingly dirty electricity system ( blurred electricity pulses) is causing increasingly expensive damage to all motors and electrical appliances but no one is yet talking about this.
We are short of electricity hence rising prices but the govt increases car tariffs to force people to buy electric cars. EV owners are being given subsidised roads as they dont pay petrol tax which funds the roads system ie they get free use of the roads.
