Sound of Heaven: SVRCINA to Join Grammy Nominee Danny Gokey on Australian East Coast Tour
Grammy-nominated Christian artist Danny Gokey is bringing his Sound of Heaven tour to cities in Australia’s eastern states—including Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne—this July.
Joining him on stage is Nashville-based pop singer SVRCINA (pronounced Sur-cee-nah), who has visited Australia on two previous occasions in 2023 and 2024.
With one Melbourne show already sold out, a second date has been added—highlighting a growing interest in Christian music events. Gokey and SVRCINA also have scheduled appearances in Canberra, Newcastle, and Toowoomba.
The Sound of Heaven tour follows a strong response to for King & Country’s “The Homecoming Tour” in May and June last year.
Who is Danny Gokey?
Gokey rose to prominence as a top three finalist on American Idol in 2009.
Since then, he has achieved notable success in the contemporary Christian music scene, with multiple chart-topping albums and over 1.2 billion streams. His music blends pop, gospel, and Latin influences, with lyrics often touching on perseverance, faith, and social hope.
SVRCINA Returns to Australia
SVRCINA will be familiar to some Australian audiences following her 2023 appearances at events and concerts in Queensland and New South Wales.
She opened for Christian artist Jeremy Camp on the Gold Coast and in Brisbane, and performed alongside Olympic silver medallist Nicola McDermott (now Olyslagers) at a “Stories and Songs” evening in Gosford. (Nicola McDermott was previously profiled by The Daily Declaration.)
Speaking with Brisbane’s 96five Christian community radio this week, SVRCINA says she is “so excited” to be back in Australia this year.
Asked about her pre-tour routines, SVRCINA says, “When you have adrenaline and your heart is racing and you get all out of breath, it’s good to practice that. Sometimes I’ll do some jumping jacks or something to get your heart rate up, to simulate the vibe of adrenaline”.
The Sound of Heaven tour arrives at a time of growing momentum in Australia’s Christian music scene, with local artists and collectives gaining traction. Recent initiatives, like the grassroots support network for emerging artists featured by The Daily Declaration earlier this year, point to an interest in quality Christian music as an alternative to the secular music scene—especially among younger Christians.

The whirlwind tour also has a regional focus, with concerts in two major regional centres and Canberra.
