Dr Jillian Spencer’s Career Faces Termination for Going Against Childhood Transgenderism
Australian child psychiatrist Dr Jillian Spencer has stood firm on childhood LGBTQIA+ gender transitioning. With her career facing permanent termination, she needs urgent help. Here’s what you can do in just a few minutes.
Family First welcomes the growing number of voices demanding that Queensland Health Minister Tim Nicholls reinstate child psychiatrist Dr Jillian Spencer.
The latest intervention by the Red Union—representing more than 23,000 frontline workers—is another clear sign that the public and health professionals alike have had enough.

LNP is Sitting on Its Hands
It is incomprehensible that an LNP government, elected last October, could sit on its hands for this long in the face of such a blatant injustice.
Dr Spencer was suspended simply for expressing concern about the irreversible harm caused by puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones being dispensed without adequate ethical oversight.
She has become a scapegoat for daring to speak the truth about the dangers of radical gender ideology being pushed on children.
“This is about protecting children through ensuring ethical, evidence-based care,” said nurse Kara Thomas, president of the Nurses’ Professional Association of Australia.
Thomas rightly labelled the situation “institutional cowardice,” adding: “The Minister must step up and reinstate Dr Spencer, or he must step down.”
The silence and inaction from Minister Tim Nicholls is a betrayal of both medical integrity and children’s welfare.
It is deeply disappointing that he appears more willing to appease LGBTIQA+ political activists than to stand by a dedicated health professional and the vulnerable children she tried to protect.

‘Activist Playgrounds’: Dr Duncan Syme
Dr Duncan Syme, President of the Australian Medical Professionals’ Society, expressed alarm that Queensland hospitals are becoming “activist playgrounds shaped by ideological pressure.”
He is right. The presence of transgender flags in acute adolescent wards is not neutral—it is political.
Family First has long warned about the dangers of gender clinics operating without scrutiny.
It is time for Mr Nicholls to end the injustice against Dr Spencer. Every day he delays is another day that ideological activism triumphs over evidence and justice.
