Dr Daniel Shayesteh, a Former Radical Muslim Leader, to Speak in Australia
Christian Faith and Freedom (CFF) is hosting a dinner, entitled “Into the Light”, to honour Christians who stand for Christ, on Friday, 19 September. Our distinguished guest speaker is Dr Daniel Shayesteh, a former member of the Ayatollah’s Revolutionary Guard in Iran.
Christian Faith and Freedom is a declaration of the will of God for our nation. Inspired by Christian Solidarity International in Zurich, Switzerland, CFF provides advocacy, aid and prayer for persecuted Christians worldwide. Strategically established in Canberra as an “Esther” ministry, CFF’s mission is to relay the urgent concerns of “Mordecai” colleagues in areas of great concern to authorities who have the power to intervene.
Christian Faith and Freedom are hosting Dr Daniel Shayesteh, a former radical Muslim leader, to speak at a very special dinner.
CFF submissions to the UN, DFAT, Embassies and High Commissions focus on the increasing scope and intensity of persecution and the totalitarian religious and secular ideologies which fuel it.
Submissions to Australian Parliamentarians raise our concerns – and those of Christians who have fled from persecution in their countries of origin – to the changes in State and Federal laws which have contributed to the rapid erosion of Australia’s Christian values and heritage of freedom.
We include the generational experience of refugees who have fled from religious and secular totalitarian regimes to enjoy freedom in Australia, and are expressing alarm at its rapid erosion. They are among our greatest allies in defending it.
A Voice for the Persecuted
All CFF initiatives are overarched and undergirded in prayer. Prayer bulletins are emailed weekly; monthly gatherings at the Canberra House of Prayer for All Nations unite us in fellowship, and earnest prayer for those whose voices have been silenced through fear and oppression.
Free copies of The Advocate, CFF’s quarterly newsletter, share verified reports and vital news which is not often ‘in the news’ – unless a cathedral is bombed with worshippers inside it; the homes and businesses of a Christian community are destroyed by fire, or schoolgirls are captured by terrorists.
Jesus’ challenge to Saul on the Road to Damascus, “Why are you persecuting Me?”, inspires religious, ideological and geo-political analysis of the ideologies engaged in the spiritual battle for the minds and hearts of humanity. Our conferences provide a welcome forum for Christian leaders to share invaluable knowledge to inspire a Biblical response to the challenges we face.
We hope to revive the Australian Coalition for the Persecuted Church with colleagues who have decades of experience in totalitarian nations hostile to Christ. Australia is a signatory to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and many other international Covenants. United presentations to policy makers and influencers can help to protect persecuted Christians overseas and awaken them to the imperative to prevent human rights violations occurring among our own people.
Dr Daniel Shayesteh to Speak in Canberra
The faith of our founders has always exceeded available finances, yet the Lord has always provided. The rescue of an Assyrian Christian family from ISIS in Baghdad to freedom in Australia was miraculously facilitated by an unexpected bequest – even before they had UNHCR refugee status. It was a joy to see their reunion with the daughter they had not seen since she fled from Saddam’s Iraq following the execution of her husband nearly twenty years earlier.
At our 2023 “Faith and Freedom Under Fire” conference, we were delighted to welcome Canon Dr Andrew White, the internationally acclaimed former “Vicar of Baghdad”, the recipient of multiple awards for his ministry of peace, reconciliation, courage and the love of God in the turbulent Middle East. We were blessed by his experiences of “The Glory of God Amidst Religious Persecution”, and he was thrilled to be reunited in Sydney with former members of his congregation, delighted by the contribution they were making to Australia.
CFF is hosting a dinner, entitled “Into the Light”, to honour Christians who stand for Christ, on Friday, 19 September. Our distinguished guest speaker is Dr Daniel Shayesteh, a former member of the Ayatollah’s Revolutionary Guard in Iran, whose ministry, “Exodus From Darkness”, is leading thousands to faith in some of the most challenging parts of the world. Bookings close at COB this Friday, 12 September, and we hope to have you with us.
