The Kirk Effect: Charlie’s Martyrdom Leads Tens of Thousands to Church, Baptism and Salvation
Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom has become a catalyst for revival, with countless thousands of people returning to church or attending for the first time the weekend after his assassination. Here are some of their incredible testimonies.
Charlie Kirk’s death has sparked a revival.
During the past several days, people have flooded the internet with post after post about returning to church — or attending for the first time.
Younger generations searching for truth in a world where they have been told there is none are restless and looking for answers. In the void created by the recession of Christianity, Charlie Kirk was convinced that the answer is to debate, dialogue and reason people back into a moral and conservative Christianity.
Kirk’s success was proven by the fact that his detractors sought to silence him, not through winning the debate, but with a bullet.
While a gunshot brought his life to an end, his voice — through a vast library of reels, posts and podcasts — is now reverberating throughout the globe louder than ever.
Here are just some of the many thousands (perhaps millions) following that voice towards Jesus.
Returning to Church
The ‘Kirk effect’ is real, evidenced by those who had wandered away from Christianity or the church but are now documenting their return.
One woman wrote, “Going to church this morning. First time in… probably 15 years… Today’s the day. Thank you, Charlie.”
This mother attributed her return to church for “the first time in 20 years” to “Charlie Kirk”. “We are raising three boys that will one day be men”, she posted on X. “And we want those boys to be as strong in their convictions as Charlie Kirk was.”
“We went to church today. It was the first time in 20 years.”

“It is because of Charlie Kirk that we went to church today.”

“I’ve struggled with my faith. I’ve run from it”, wrote Caitlin Sinclair. “But today I walked back into church.”
She then issued these words: “My generation has been told we’re too lost. Too broken to rebuild.
“But this week marks the beginning of a return — to faith. To truth. To God.
“And nothing will stop what’s coming.”

I am going to church today for the first time since I was a child.
I am closer to becoming a Christian today than I have ever been.

My son asked if I wanted to go to church with him on Sunday. He’s not a church goer. We’re going to Saturday Mass.

Another wrote, “I used to go to church when I was younger and listening to Charlie. I’m going back. If God will have me. Thanks Charlie.”
Some, such as Michele Tafoya, returned to church hoping to hear a message addressing the assassination, but left disappointed.
Good morning. I went to church today for the first time in a couple of months. I was sad that the name of Charlie Kirk was not mentioned a single time. Other tragedies were mentioned. But at this particular Catholic church, nothing about Charlie. What were they afraid of?

Unfortunately, there are some churches afraid of addressing current cultural concerns, believing they are a distraction from the gospel at best, or even antithetical to the gospel, and fear it will turn people away.
But a real risk of this position is that it fails to help people respond biblically to what’s happening around them — the actual world they live in.
A chief criticism levelled at Christianity is that it is irrelevant for today. Agree with Kirk or not, he never gave his audience the opportunity to think that Christianity was a detached, disinterested and disengaged religion. It was pricelessly by applying biblical truth to the very real issues of the culture that made people respond.
For those with fears that this kind of culturally-engaged Christianity will do more damage than good, the following testimonies should prompt serious reconsideration of this belief.
Kirk Effect Prompts People to Go to Church
Walking into an unfamiliar place is not easy, especially a church. Many people expressed a sense of anxiety in wondering whether they would be accepted on darkening the doors of a church.
I’m “sitting here in front of a church that a week ago, I’d never even have considered going to”, one person revealed on X. “Some feelings are welling up. Anxiety, fear, hope, anger, peace, all feelings [are] happening simultaneously.”
“Charlie preached for all to come to God. I never listened before. I agreed on nearly everything else he spoke on, but I just didn’t think that part applied to me. Of course it did, and I won’t ever forget him. Every time I pull up to a church, possibly this one, I will remember Charlie.”
Sitting here, in front of a church I’ve never even stepped foot in, in front of a church a week ago I’d never even have considered going to, some feelings are welling up.

Others reported on “packed church services” and parking lots, with “young men turning to God and receiving salvation through faith in Jesus.”
“Charlie Kirk, look what you did. No parking. No parking at all. None. Had to park like 5 blocks away from church cause everyone wants to come now. Amen.”

Reports of salvation and baptism flooded in, including this church which had hundreds of people baptised last Sunday.

My Bible-believing church was overflowing today.
No place to park, no empty seats, people waiting in the lobby for the next service. I saw so many people hungry for truth, guidance, and salvation.
You have to imagine Charlie is smiling down from Heaven.

It’s expected that the US-based figure will have the largest impact within America. But Aussies also turned up to church for the first time as a result of the Kirk effect.
One Australian pastor wrote, “I had a bunch of people at church this morning who had never stepped foot in a church before. We already had a lot of that happening before this past month, but it seems to have grown since these successive cultural moments, and ultimately since Charlie was killed.”
One Aussie expressed, “I have this really strong urge to pick up a Bible… It’s a really strange feeling.”
I have this really strong urge to pick up a bible.
I don’t own one, I never have.
I keep getting signs.
A feeling that I’m being pulled in a certain direction that I have never experienced before.
It’s a really strange feeling.
So many people have reached out, I appreciate…

The Kirk effect is even rubbing off on those who believed he was a “vile, vile man” who was fine with kids dying if it means he gets to keep his guns.
After a continued (and sometimes heated) conversation with his friend and much consideration, one man realised that Kirk’s political opinions were not “vile, but something we can disagree on”. Then he followed up with, “I know you’re going to love this, but I’m going to buy a Bible. And I need to know what translation I should buy.”
Evil Causes People to Run the Other Way
No one should be killed for speaking about their legitimately held political opinions. If Kirk was sincerely wrong about his convictions, at least he was sincere.
Kirk abhorred violence. He was convinced that the only way to avoid it was through discussion and debate. That’s why many who disagreed with him were shocked at his murder — and the response of others cheering it on.
There was only one word to describe this: evil. And being forced to face such evil has compelled many to turn the other way.
The old typical conversion process:
God is real > Jesus is God > I need Jesus. The new typical conversion process:
Satan is real > Satan hates Jesus > I need Jesus.Preach accordingly.

“Charlie Kirk’s death made me pick up a Bible for the first time in my life”, recalled one woman.
“I never ever opened a Bible before. In fact, I know nothing about Christianity or Jesus.
“But yesterday, after witnessing the assassination of Charlie Kirk on the internet, and it just being so normal to people, like watching this man get shot in the neck and everybody being so desensitised and just going on with life like it was normal. Something was calling me to my husband’s Bible.”
“I don’t know how I feel. But for the very first time yesterday, I grabbed the Bible. I don’t know what I’m looking for in the Bible. I don’t know why I felt like I needed to grab the Bible.
“But I grabbed my husband’s Bible, and the page that I opened up to was the verse John 8:32. And it said, ‘Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’
“And I feel like that changed me so much.
“Charlie Kirk’s death woke me up spiritually, and now I can’t unsee the truth.”
Impacting Heroin Addicts and Health Secretaries
Kirk’s influence is as wide as it is deep. He was a “very smart and effective communicator”, as Bernie Sanders put it, capable of reaching an incredibly diverse range of people.
“I want to thank Charlie Kirk so much”, said one former heroin addict. “I had no purpose. I found Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ saved my life.”
He then credited Kirk with turning him into the man he is now.
“Today, I am where I’m at today because I started listening to people like Charlie Kirk.
“I have a beautiful girl. We are in love with Jesus together. And I’m going to pick her up, and we’re going to do [a] Bible study date.
“And that’s because Charlie Kirk taught me how to love a woman properly. He told me how to treat a woman right and lead her towards God and lead the family towards God.”
“Him passing away has set a fire in me to try to help other men as well do the same.”
That same fire was evidenced at the moving memorial held in the Kennedy Centre on Monday. During that event, US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr revealed Charlie’s impact on himself as well as his “17-year-old niece”, who “left for Europe to go to college and while she was packing, she had put a Bible in her suitcase and she said: ‘I want to live like Charlie Kirk.’”

Revival: But What Kind?
Few would have contemplated that a martyrdom would be the catalyst for the beginnings of a revival. Yet the past week has demonstrated exactly that.
Now the only question is: How long, how wide, and how deep will this revival be?
Millions of Christians have been praying earnestly for revival for decades. Some for even longer than I’ve been alive. I now have the privilege of praying with them.
However the Kirk effect works itself out, one thing is certain: those who have sown in tears are right now seeing the harvest come in with tears of joy.

Wow! This is fabulous news! But I guess the democrats are more interested in pontificating Robert Redford (great actor and good looking though he was ).
What Satan meant for evil, the Lord will turn to good! Praise Him forever!
Great article. The response in the broader unchurched community to Charlies death is staggering. Charlie Kirk was , like Jesus, a friend of sinners!!!
Revival fires burning!
Thank you Charlie for being a catalyst for this global Turning Point.
It reminds me of the early church statement about the blood of the martyrs being the seed of the church.
What an excellent article Samuel! How amazing that all this good can come from one evil act. So sad that Charlie had to lose his life to save others.
Yesterday you tube posted about a dozen of his videos .I don’t recall seeing any before .I think it s odd somehow inexplicably . I watched a couple debating with radical over acting rainbow coloured characters but just felt sceptical of the production and intentions frankly .Just a tad too obvious imo .
Sorry .
“we are all disposable to them ” QE2.
They aren’t amateurs at theatre of operations ,psyops and deceiving the world is their intention .In my opinion
It’s very sad that people trust in authorities that they don’t even really know at all .in my opinion .And that’s effectively in a pyramid style of hierarchy .
do not think I’m uncaring .That’s not the case at all .Charlie will be rewarded I’m certain for his sincerity in proportion to his works found in his faith .Eternally too.
I have deep sympathy for his wife and family and friends ,all those who will feel his parting personally .
I never knew him however and don’t know him so I can’t pretend otherwise. And won’t try to .
I m unhappy however that I fear he was used at this time with intentions by the very powers he would oppose.
Charlie Kirk martyred at 12:13 Utah time…
John 12:23 But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. 24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
Charlie’s widow , Erika now is left to hold the flame as she’s been appointed CEO of Turning point USA .She’s Catholic .The senate’s has declared October 14 as National Remeberance Day for Charlie ..I heard some suggestions that he wasn’t Catholic but a Mormon Apparently there was some connection there I don’t know As someone raised in a Catholic home I do know that the Vatican does not approve of women who marry non Catholics and declare their children as illegitimate . Anyway the outcomes in their court by the looks of things .
they’re opening up new chapters in schools across America There are more Catholic schools in America than in the entire rest of the world combined .The American dollars the strongest currency .
I would suggest the curious to do a search for Pipe Francis when he was standing on the balcony waving to the school kids bussed in for the event .If you can find it ,him with several senators as he says God bless America and their reactions .Priceless .
Remember Obama announced him as “the moral authority for rule of law ” and he meant universally .Also don’t overlook that almost thirty years ago at the interfaith ecumenical council meeting all of the world’s religions consented to legally appointing the Pope as the Head of the one world religion .

one more thing ,Roseanne Barr ,the Jewush star ⭐, was raised in Salt lake City in Utah and she has said that having a gay brother and sister she witnessed just exactly how gay that community of Mormons really is ,how deliberately they have lavender marriages and portray themselves such squares ,but that nothing is what it seems .She elaborated that upon meeting that Osmond girl ,you know the “singer ” Marie of paper roses , who she thought would be thrilled to meet someone a peer , from Salt lake City ,but to her surprise ,she says Marie almost but her head off and very curtly snapped ,we have nothing to do with them there ( those despicable deplorable implied ) and abruptly walked away .
Related to the ex convict and cocaine dealer Shaun Attwood s interview with former priest , I think Kevin , discussing the Roman church overturning english Protestantism , she did sign the Perth Act here when she opened Elizabeth Quays , and Charles just attended ,what they’re calling an HISTORIC event , the Duchess of Kent’s Catholic funeral They’re alleging that to be a first .Im.dubious at best of the integrity . .Now I think her husband was running global Freemasonry until recently when he passed the crown to Prince Edward ,the Count of Wessex .However Dianna’s mother is Catholic and Dianna’s funeral was in the Catholic cathedral .And the Mormons are described as the sister church of the Jehovah’s Witnesses too and none are supposed to be masons ,but I know they are .

I’m so grateful for Charlie and his legacy. I went to his memorial at the University of Qld, Brisbane. They expected 500 (with 2 days notice)…they got a thousand. “His works do follow him” I would imagine that he is even busier now….dosen’t have to eat or sleep…..
Acts 7, the martyrdom of Stephen is one of my favourite chapters. Preaching truth took him straight into the presence of the Lord, with a standing ovation from Jesus himself! Same with Charlie. To God be the glory!
