We have entered into an exciting phase in Australia where God is laying down a new framework for kingdom government, through radical spiritual transformation of our Christian MPs.

As Christians in Australia cry out for righteous leadership in our governments, an unlikely scenario in Tasmania has emerged in a small Hobart café called The Way, to pioneer collaboration between Christian MPs and the ekklesia.

Refinement Leads to the Increase of Kingdom Government

God is embarking on a major refining of Christian government leaders and politicians.

All Christians through Jesus are on a journey of being spiritually transformed from sinning in the flesh to operating in the spirit (Romans 8). Christian MPs are no exception, but many have forsaken their core Christian values and sold out to Mammon or works of the flesh in their political roles, disqualifying them from the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5).

The Holy Spirit’s desire is for Christian MPs to align with God’s kingdom, the word of God and His leading instead of aligning with the Devil’s kingdom (ancient Egypt, Babylon) in their roles. God wants Christian MPs operating spiritually in the kingdom of God by default.

Christian politicians who acknowledge Jesus (on the throne of David) as being Lord over the government they serve become a vessel to fulfil the promises God has made concerning the Kingdom government in Isaiah 9:

For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of Armies will perform this. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

God does not see Christian politicians as mere politicians; He sees them as spiritual leaders to be set apart from the world system:

You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be My own possession from among all peoples; for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. (Exodus 19:4-5)

Practical Steps to Pioneering Kingdom Government in a Café

In September 2024, God led my wife, Deborah, and me to open The Way — Christian Books/Gifts/Gallery/Café in Battery Point, Tasmania.

Through our existing relationships with Christian MPs and direction of the Holy Spirit, we designed a plan for them to come unrestrained into their full authority as spiritual leaders through prayer and the word of God.

We developed a series of corporate prayer dinners at The Way for the Christian MPs to lead in biblical prayer with their constituents, as directed by the Holy Spirit in contractual prayer agreement, as taught by Jesus in Matthew 18:19.

Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 18:19)

God has used these corporate prayer dinners as a platform to combine the Earth authority of the Christian MPs with the spiritual authority that they carry through Jesus in the kingdom of God and the word of God (eg. Luke 10:19) above and over the material world (under Satan’s jurisdiction) as they lead in biblical prayer for Australia, Tasmania and Israel.

One highlight of the corporate prayer dinners involved the spiritual unification between Israel and Australia as outlined in Isaiah 14:1, sealed in prayer with three Christian MPs and the Israeli Ambassador to Australia, in November 2024.

For Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land. The foreigner will join himself with them, and they will unite with the house of Jacob. (Isaiah 14:1)

This was a historic moment for the nation of Australia. Prophecy was fulfilled in front of our eyes, with our nation coming into its destiny aligned with Israel. All this, occurring in a tiny cafe that God had chosen and made His own for such a time as this.

The leading of the Holy Spirit is central to the direction that the corporate prayer dinners take to ensure the Father’s will is carried out.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in Heaven. (Matthew 7:21)

Before every event, the Holy Spirit’s instructions are sought out, and this is shared with the guest MP during the week for their consideration/discernment.

On the night of the prayer event, we begin with a meal together at two large tables with an invitation to the Holy Spirit to come into everything.

This month, September 2025, The Way will host its seventh corporate prayer dinner event.

God, lead us into the Promised Land.

In our most recent corporate prayer dinner on 30 August, led by Eric Abetz, a former federal senator and now Treasurer in the Tasmanian State Government, the Holy Spirit directed us to pray for God to bring Australia into the promised land. Through the scriptures Joshua 1 and John 14, Eric asked for prayer agreement from the guests at the dinner as per Matthew 18:19 regarding this, and then members of the Ekklesia at the dinner were able to respond and elaborate as led by the Holy Spirit.

Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous… (Joshua 1:6-7)

Kingdom Government Requires Different Parts of the Body

The Way in Battery Point has and continues to provide a venue to bring members of the ekklesia and Christian MPs together in Kingdom Government.

The realm of politics and government ultimately comes down to a spiritual war between two kingdoms fighting to advance their own interests and territory. The burden for Christian MPs to navigate this on their own without the ekklesia‘s support is too great.

Kingdom Government requires members of the ekklesia with gifts of intercession, spiritual warfare, prophecy and more to come together in partnership with Christian MPs and walk the journey together.

Expansion and Conclusion

Kingdom government and success can only be achieved by operating in the spirit through Jesus’ authority above and over the natural realm. Satan wants to keep politics and government under His jurisdiction on the Earth realm and keep Jesus out of it. Engaging in prayer through the word of God is what drives and differentiates kingdom government, setting it apart from the world system and Christian MPs aligning with the flesh.

Establishing, expanding and promoting kingdom government is the joint responsibility of the ekklesia in partnership with Christian MPs who belong on the same team. The Way in Battery Point is a testimony to the Holy Spirit’s desire to make them one advancing Kingdom Government, with possible replication in other states and territories in Australia.

Afterword

This manifestation of the Eagle in the sky appeared in 2024 in the direction of Parliament House, Tasmania.

Just before I opened the back door of The Way to see the eagle, the Holy Spirit spoke the name of the current Premier of Tasmania, an unbeliever.

The Holy Spirit then revealed that the Eagle was prophetically related to Exodus 19:4-6 and his intention to bring Tasmania and Australia into Kingdom government:
