The Gentiles and the Feast of Tabernacles: Forgiveness at the End of Time

2.5 MINS

Peering into the future beyond the cataclysmic end-time events, Zechariah the prophet foretells that there is coming a time when all the nations of the earth will go up to Jerusalem “year by year… to keep the Feast of Tabernacles”. (Zec 14:16)

His prophecy leads us to ask the question: Why will the nations of the world be celebrating this particular feast on the Jewish calendar?

What is the Feast of Tabernacles?

Known in Hebrew as “the season of our joy”, Tabernacles is a unique celebration where God’s people are divinely mandated to rejoice. During the days of Jesus, the Temple was a focal point of this seven-day celebration of the harvest. The festivities would see the Temple lit up with giant 25-metre-high candelabras.

Sacrifices and signing would fill each day, and in the evening, respected men of faith would dance, sing and even juggle flaming torches until late at night. For those who have never seen this celebration, the rabbis say, it is as if they have ‘never seen joy in their lives.’ (Talmud Sukkah 51b)

A Prophetic Calendar

The feasts God gave to Israel through Moses are not just celebrations of past events but are also prophetic of future events. The first four feasts on the calendar were literally and to the day fulfilled by Jesus’ first coming, and many scholars therefore believe that the remaining feasts lay out the final sequence of events surrounding His second coming.

The Feast of Tabernacles is the last of these celebrations, and it points to the great joy and the rejoicing there will be when God finally dwells (or tabernacles) among His people.

While we can look forward to this great celebration, the prophets of the Bible all agree that a time of tremendous trouble is coming to earth before we reach this glorious end. The Feast immediately prior to Tabernacles is the ‘Day of Atonement’, in which the entire nation of Israel as one fasts and prays seeking God for forgiveness.

Piecing this together with End Time prophecy, I believe that Israel will in the End Times face a time of great trial and persecution by the nations of the world, leading to her national repentance. This will, in turn, lead to the Messiah’s return and a time of unparalleled rejoicing.

But what about the Gentile Nations?

When the Lord finally intervenes on behalf of Israel, Zechariah predicts that He will seek to “destroy” the nations that had so viciously come against Jerusalem (Zec 12:9). It is as the judgment of God begins to fall on the nations, that I believe the Feast of Tabernacles will find its ultimate prophetic fulfilment.

During this feast, the Jewish people are commanded year by year to sacrifice a total of 70 bulls. The number 70 in Jewish thought represents all the nations of the world (linked to the 70 descendants of Noah in Gen. 10:32). Prophetically, I believe that as God intervenes and begins to judge the Gentile persecutors of Israel, Tabernacles foreshadows Israel entering into her finest hour of intercession.

Like Moses of old, they will stand in intercession for God to spare the very nations that just moments earlier were responsible for dreadful persecution of the Jews. And just as God heard the prayers of Moses back then, so Israel’s intercessory prayer for the nations will be heard, resulting in many from the nations being spared. What an example of forgiveness and intercession! It certainly is a model and an example for all of us to follow today.

This prophetic context of the Feast of Tabernacles helps explain why the prophet predicts that those from the nations ‘who are left’ (Zec 14:9) will join Israel in the annual celebration of Tabernacles. This Feast will truly be the time ‘of greatest joy’ as all mankind is restored to God, and will be a momentous time in history when Jew and Gentile together will worship before the Lord God of Israel.

I am a colaborer in Yeshua who keeps His commandments because I love Yeshua and 1 John 5 tells me that Yah’s definition of love (ahavin Hebrew) is that His people keep His commandments and keeping them is not grievous.

The reason many Gentiles have no knowledge of Yah’s feasts is that in the early days of the disciples of Yeshua a vile person (Constantine) declared himself the son of Yah on earth with authority to change Yah’s words and to forgive sin. This is blasphemy. the Council of Nicaea established these changes and killed those who obeyed Yah’s words. Since them the true followers of Yeshua have suffered at the hands of religion.

Yeshua said ” By their fruits you will know them (true believers vs tares).. True believers are indwelt by Christ’s spirit. This Spirit writes Yah’s commandments on hearts and minds and leads us to do His commandments. Hence the fruit of the Spirit is made visible in the transformation by the Spirit. Yah and Yeshua do it all. we surrender ourselves completely to what we hear. This is THE NARROW PATH.

What we are witnessing is the preparation for Antichrist ruling from Jerusalem. UN AGENDA 2030 is the blueprint for building the necessary infrastructure for one world government under Antichrist. Our governments have signed Australia up in 2014. Even unbelievers can identify the evil being established – especially digital ID which looks a bit like the precursor for the mark of the Beast.

We ate witnessing the attack of radical Islam and adherents (communism, fascism, socialism) called the king of the south (Daniel 11:40) against the king of the north (the papal system and apostate christianity). In 2014 ISIS declared war on the Pope who appealed to Obama who intervened. This was a time of mass migration around the world from the lands of the king of the south and the slaughter of thousands of believers in these lands. 2025 we are experiencing the escalation of jihad violence around the world.

But according to Daniel 11:40 the papal system and apostates (king of North) will attack radical Islam ‘ like a whirlwind” destroying this leg of Roman clay and iron. He will bring down Egypt (but not Edom, Moab and Ammon). He will move to the land of Israel where he will perish, destroyed by the uncut stone Yeshua in Daniel 2.

Wake up. Why can you not discern what the Spirit is saying. Do not follow the false doctrines of men. Jude warned us. Go back to the beginning – your need of a Saviour and a leader and a teacher to walk in righteousness.

Yeshua learned obedience through suffering The populous gospel never teaches us about this suffering. it never teaches that we are under the Abrahamic Covenant and our responsibility is to surrender to what we hear His indwelling Spirit say and write on our hearts and minds, to defend His words at all costs and to yield to His indwelling as He shows us how to do His commandments.

well when was the whole world United under God before ? Ican only think it must have been after the Great Flood when just Noah and his kids were left .
ONE thing I’ve never understood is why God never talks about Australia or New Zealand or south America or Africa ,except Egypt ,or China or Asia Japan Korea etc . Eskimos or aborigines and so on Are they gentiles too ?
And of course there’s no commentary on America Canada ,it’s baffling really imo .
Maybe we were meant to be destroyed earlier but God had mercy and changed his mind but couldn’t rewrite the book.afted so mamy copies were in circulation already ? Or maybe he just got too disappointed in humanity in toto .
You do know the biggest Gay Pride parade in the world after America’s is in Israel which is overflowing with men’s saunas and steam rooms and has a whole gay tourism industry going on .?
I don’t know what to make of it all actually It is baffling
It’s not possible as the Bible tells for the finite mind of man to comprehend the infinite mind of God is all I can suggest .
