‘100 Times Worse Than Watergate’: Biden FBI Exposed for Spying on 430 Trump Allies in Operation Arctic Frost
Arctic Frost, a sweeping Biden-era FBI probe, secretly subpoenaed records from 430 Republicans and conservative groups. Exposed on Wednesday, the scandal has drawn comparisons to Watergate and sent shockwaves through Washington, DC.
Operation Arctic Frost, a sweeping FBI investigation under the Biden administration, covertly targeted more than 430 Republican politicians, donors, and organisations, in a scandal that has been described by US Senator Eric Schmitt as “100 times worse than Watergate.”
The investigation, led by former Special Counsel Jack Smith, involved nearly 200 subpoenas aimed at digging through financial records and other communications.
This week’s Arctic Frost exposé has sent shockwaves through Washington and raised serious concerns over the misuse of federal authority during the Biden era.
On Wednesday, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, exposed the extent of the spying by releasing 197 subpoenas obtained via whistleblowers.
The subpoenas, which captured 34 individuals and 163 businesses, demanded data ranging from bank records to key correspondence with media outlets, White House advisors, and members of Congress.
“Arctic Frost was the vehicle by which partisan FBI agents and Department of Justice prosecutors could investigate the entire Republican political apparatus,” Grassley said.
“Contrary to what Jack Smith has publicly claimed, this was clearly a fishing expedition. We’re making these records public so the American people can draw their own conclusions.”

Republican Leaders Denounce Politicised Spying
Senator Eric Schmitt of Missouri, former chairman of the Republican Attorneys General Association, said the investigation was unprecedented in scope, and had all the hallmarks of a politically motivated probe.
“Three days after President Trump announced he was running for president, the system was weaponised against him,” Schmitt said.
“Jack Smith… went after sitting senators, members of my organisation, and hundreds of other Republicans. This was an effort to target political opponents like we have never seen before. It can never happen again.”
According to documents released by the House Judiciary Committee, Arctic Frost deployed FBI field offices across the country in an effort to spy on Trump allies and some of the largest conservative groups in the country.
More than 150 individuals connected to the Trump campaign and conservative movement were under investigation, including Steve Bannon, Rudolph Giuliani, Mark Meadows, Peter Navarro, Dan Scavino, and Jeffrey Clark.
Internal FBI memos reveal that then-Director Christopher Wray requested Attorney General Merrick Garland’s approval to launch Arctic Frost. Wray justified his call for the investigation by claiming that disputed electors’ certificates in key states were part of a plan to block Congress from confirming the 2020 election.
However, as noted by legal analyst Margot Cleveland, the historical precedent of the 1960 Hawaii election shows that it is lawful to use alternative electors in the case of a contested election.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas confirmed this view, saying Arctic Frost was conducted “in complete contravention of the Constitution, the Speech and Debate Clause, free speech, and basic privacy rights”.
Sean Davis, CEO and co‑founder of The Federalist, said that federal sources confirmed “Arctic Frost was not a randomly generated code name.”
Davis explained that Arctic Frost “is a cultivar of orange that thrives in Florida but can also withstand cold weather,” and that the name was deliberately chosen because “the entire purpose of the operation was to take down Donald Trump — the bad orange man from frigid New York who lives in Florida.”
Which Conservative Groups Were Targeted?
Conservative entities targeted by the secret probe included Trump’s campaign, the Republican National Committee, Save America PAC, America First Policy Institute, and the Conservative Partnership Institute.
Senator Grassley further detailed that the subpoenas sought:
- Communications with major media outlets, including CBS, Fox News, Fox Business, Newsmax, and Sinclair.
- Emails or records involving members or staff of the Legislative Branch.
- Interactions with White House advisors, including Stephen Miller, Dan Scavino, Jared Kushner, and Lara Trump.
- Statistical data on donors and fundraising.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas confirmed that the FBI attempted to subpoena his phone records. The US telecommunications company AT&T successfully challenged the request, citing violation of the US Constitution’s Speech and Debate Clause.
Other senators, including Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, had records successfully subpoenaed through Verizon, another major US phone provider.
Grassley emphasised that these subpoenas were obtained, not directly from the FBI, but through whistleblowers, and urged more federal employees who have witnessed corruption to step forward.
“We need more whistleblowers,” he said. “Men and women inside these agencies who have integrity, who want to see the credibility of the Department of Justice and the FBI restored, must come forward.”

The Story Legacy Media Ignored
Observers and lawmakers alike have compared Arctic Frost to Watergate — the 1970s US scandal in which President Nixon’s administration was caught spying on his political opponents — though on a far larger scale.
Senator Eric Schmitt described it as “one hundred times worse than Watergate” and called for extensive congressional hearings.
Arctic Frost successfully targeted 20 per cent of Republicans in the US Senate, as well as dozens of conservative organisations, setting a chilling precedent of federal power being weaponised against political rivals.
Despite the scale of the scandal, US legacy media outlets have provided minimal coverage. Major outlets like The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC largely ignored the Senate Judiciary Committee’s revelations.

Beth Brelje of The Federalist noted, “If the federal government investigated and surveilled the entire Democrat Party with no legitimate probable cause, the media would run nonstop coverage. Yet, in the case of Arctic Frost, the corporate press ignores or downplays the scandal.”
The taxpayer-funded Australian Broadcasting Corporation, which has produced more than 500 articles on the January 6 riot and thousands more critical of US President Donald Trump, is yet to publish a single report on Operation Arctic Frost.

Dear Kurt, thank you for breaking this story, when so few others have or will. I lived though the Watergate era and can still remember the ‘outrage’ from the ‘public’ about the revaluations and their call for swift legal and political ramifications.
Today, the general public seem to have a ‘who cares’ attitude. I think that is for two reasons – a. the left will simply dismiss the claims as ‘right wing propaganda and we don’t need to listen to such rubbish’ and, b. many on the right are so disengaged from anything other than ‘me and my small corner,’ or are so jaundiced about the legal system, they ‘know nothing will be prosecuted here as there are too many heavy hands out there to put a stop to it before it can gain traction.’
Thankfully, many are finding out from “X” what the legacy media are complicit in failing to report on –
real news.
