Mission Report: How God Moved at Disciple Camp 2026

2.2 MINS

Over 120 young adults gathered for Disciple Camp, trained in practical disciple-making tools and sent out to reach their generation for Jesus.

As campers were preparing to depart, we asked several for their immediate reflections. Did they feel better equipped to make disciples?

“Definitely!” one young man declared emphatically. Then, glancing over to where a group of campers were gathered, he added with a smile, “I think we’re actually going to go off and make disciples right now.”

This enthusiasm for mission reflects the heart behind Disciple Camp, where this year more than 120 young adults gathered for a powerful week of equipping and mobilising believers to live out their faith and reach their generation.

Equipped for Mission

Run in partnership with Youth for Christ, The Global Harvest, and YWAM Adelaide, participants were trained in simple disciple-making tools that can be used anywhere – in homes, campuses, workplaces, and communities. The week culminated with a public outreach and mass baptism event on Australia Day, where young and old alike declared their faith and were baptised.

But for many, the greatest encouragement was the sense of community that quickly formed around a shared passion for Jesus and mission. As one participant reflected:

“Young adults are running after Jesus. There’s so much hunger, but now we have the frameworks and tools that have been used from people before us that we’re actually getting taught to run into discipling.

Community That Transforms

“[But] the major reason that you come down isn’t necessarily for the tools or the training,” he continued. “You come down for the community.

“You never would have pictured all these types of people coming together, [but] that’s part of discipleship. Jesus calls anyone and everyone to come be disciple-makers, we’re seeing that in our generation – and I’m so pumped.”

Of course, the real test of any training comes after the return to everyday life, where new convictions, learnings and good intentions compete with the distractions of daily life.

Because of this, our prayer team have been praying specifically for these young leaders as they return home. Through our mission partners at The Global Harvest, participants also took part in a post-camp 21-day “Become a Disciple Maker” challenge, with further follow-up planned to continue mobilising them into mission throughout the year.

And already we are hearing encouraging stories of fruit.

Six weeks after the camp, Zach told us how he’s been stepping into daily mission:

“I have shared my faith with more people in my life in this last month than ever before in my walk with Jesus. God has taken away barriers that previously existed, and I’ve since shared the gospel publicly, with old friends, and family in a way that I wasn’t able to before.”

Stories like Zach’s remind us why this work matters.

But the multiplication potential of gatherings like these is perhaps best captured in the famous words of John Wesley:

“Give me one hundred preachers who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God… such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of Heaven on earth.”

Thank you for your support that helps multiply young disciple-makers.

Please continue to pray for this year’s cohort as they step boldly into everyday mission within their local context.
