Zoomer’s Banned Pro-Life Poem, Considered Vile by Her Teacher, Goes Viral
A 13-year-old Colorado student’s pro-life slam poem was silenced by her teacher — but millions online are making sure her voice is heard.
A 13-year-old’s pro-life poem, banned because it was considered vile, has gone viral.
The slam poetry submission was rejected by a seventh-grade Jefferson County educator for being “too political”, “unsafe”, and “offensive”.
Yet, the female teacher allowed content covering LGBTQ+ism, immigration, and other “left-leaning political material”.
“I Chose Life”: The Assignment That Sparked a Controversy
Made famous by over 3.1 million people, who’ve viewed Chaya Raichik’s Libs of TikTok video posted on X last Wednesday, the 7th-grader from Colorado recalled,
“My teacher assigned an assignment in class to write a slam poem about conflict in the world that we are passionate about.”
So, the student chose to write about abortion.
“I chose life,” she said.
“I chose this topic because it’s important to me and my family.”
“But when I asked my teacher if I could present it, she said, ‘No’.”
The teacher then punished the student by telling her she would be excluded from the class during the poetry slam.
Unnamed to protect both her and her family’s identity, the 13-year-old recalled being told, “that she would not be able to be in the class while her classmates are presenting their poems.”
The Drake Public School student was told she would have to sit outside.
Excluded From Class for Her Beliefs
Defending her rights, the student questioned the teacher on why she was being excluded. The educator seemed to soften, slightly back down, and allow the pro-life teen to at least listen.
Outraged about the overt political persecution of her daughter because of her pro-life views, the student’s mum intervened.
“I pushed back,” her mother recalled, “not only were they presenting a lot of political material themselves. They were also presenting it as truth.”
As republished by LifeSite News, the 324-word poem contains zero obscenities, no explicit references to abortion procedures, or abuse of abortionites.
The teenager’s poem simply asks what a rising number of people in the West are asking: why are they turning the womb into a tomb, then calling the practice “healthcare”?
“A life is a life, no matter how small,” she wrote.
“Seventy-three million people have been killed in one year and will be killed again this year, if not more, when they are completely innocent humans.”
“They never get to see the light of day before they are cast away.”
“They did nothing wrong except exist and were dismissed.”
“People say women need health care, but never think how unfair—they kill baby for simply being there!”
Firing straight from Psalm 139 and Jeremiah 1:5, the teenager wonders why people are rejecting the fact that life begins at conception.
“We often forget this important detail. This detail could save our lives.”
“Why do they say that babies in their womb are mistakes and things that need to be gotten rid of? Why, why, why?” the pro-life Zoomer poet asks.
“They blame women’s rights on health care, but what about babies’ rights? That’s unfair.”
Turning the poetic into a pro-life protest, the 13-year-old’s poem then reaches for the doctrine of Imago Dei (humans made in God’s image):
“People say ‘women’s rights on health care — that’s just a clump of cells’.”
“But no one dwells on the fact that the baby still has a heartbeat at six weeks. Boom, boom, boom, boom.”
She then ends with, “Destruction, dismay, dread … When will people comprehend this needs to come to an end?”
“Our life is our life, no matter how small.”
A Mother Fights Back
According to a secondary online source allegedly close to the story, a complaint was filed by the mother.
The teacher has not yet been investigated, although that source did say that Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) were looking into the incident.
Commenting on the teacher singling out the Christian teenager, Focus on the Family’s Daily Citizen stated,
“Thank God for such beautiful, strong female voices speaking truth amid a culture of death.”
“Shame on the Jefferson County, Colorado, school officials for illiberally muting this spirited and intelligent girl’s talented pro-life voice.”
LifeSite has additionally said that they reached out to the public school for comment, to no avail.
Neither has the school published a public statement, apology or explanation.

She slam-dunked it. Well done.
Every life has value, destiny, purpose and the breath of God within them. What we choose to do with our life is how we honour our creator.
Praise God for strong witnesses to truth.
God Bless this young student. The Teacher is allowing her own opinions to cloud common sense. Teacher needs re-education to teach balanced viewpoints, not just her own ideologies.

You go, girl! Good on ya!
I was able to read Bruce Dawe’s ‘The Wholly Innocent’ in high school. I wonder whether you still can, or if the teacher thought police have come for him too.
