Choose Life

Day 6: Choose Life

15 August 2026

2.6 MINS

Intention

To raise up a Church that faithfully chooses life each day, so that our nation will follow by choosing the same path.

Scripture

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.”

– Deuteronomy 30:19

Reflection

Israel stood at one of the defining moments in its history. After forty years of wandering in the wilderness, the Promised Land lay just beyond the Jordan River.

Moses, knowing he would not cross over with them, delivered his final message to God’s people. Before Joshua would lead them into the land, Moses laid before them a choice: “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose therefore life.”

This was more than a call to make wise decisions. It was an invitation to love the Lord, to walk in his ways and to trust his promises. God desired to bless his people, not burden them. He longed for them to enjoy the fullness of life that comes from living in fellowship with him. Their choice would not affect them alone, but the generations who followed: “that you and your descendants may live.”

Australia also stands at an important moment. Across our nation, many Christians are praying that the lives of unborn children will once again be cherished and protected. We long to see a renewed culture of life, where every person is recognised as bearing the image of God and every child is welcomed as his precious gift.

Yet lasting change begins with God’s people. Before laws change, hearts must change. Before a nation chooses life, the Church must faithfully choose life each day by loving God, proclaiming his truth with compassion, caring for mothers, fathers and families, and standing for those who have no voice.

Our confidence is not in political victories alone, but in the God who is the Author of life. Through Jesus Christ, he offers forgiveness, hope and new life to all who come to him.

As we pray for Australia, may we first renew our own commitment to follow him wholeheartedly. Then, by his grace, our witness may encourage others to choose the path that leads to life, for their sake and for the generations yet to come.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, you are the Author and giver of life. Thank you for your loving invitation to choose the path of blessing by walking with you.

Forgive us where we have failed to value life as you do. Renew your Church with courage, wisdom and compassion.

We pray for mothers, fathers, families, our leaders and all who shape the future of our nation. May Australia once again choose life, so that generations to come may know your blessing.

Amen.

    Thanking God, the church is arising to hear God’s call to pray for all babies to be saved form an early death. It is estimated that thousands die of babies die by choce in the womb or just after birth (e.g. one baby dies a week in Qld after birth) every year. In Australia over several million babies have died due to our neglect to pray and stand up for them.
    We commend the awesome teams and leaders who have stood up such as ‘Australia Christian Lobby’ and ‘Cherish Life’, Dr Joanna Howe, and ‘prolife marches’ have all combined to help. Now in August a massive prayer movement was launched involving fasting and repentance. By Gods coincidence the booties representing the those babies who died early will be placed in a cross, on the lawn at parliament House, Monday. Then that morning the bill for babies born alive is to be presented by Llew O’Brien. Meanwhile, all the prayers of the saints, and houses of refuge for the women who are pregnant must bring results. May God’s voice be heard amidst these Godly movements of compassion.
    We know God treats the ‘shedding of innocent blood’ as a great crime against His creation too so we must repent before Our Maker who will ask an account of us. We must heed Gods word from 1 Peter 4.7: “For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News” (NLV)

    CHURCH HAS AUTHORITY OVER EARTH.
    We believers in Christ were given authority over all creation, systems and establishments.
    We have authority over life and death. But our Lord Jesus is LIFE.
    Whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven. Whatever we loose on earth is loosed in heaven.
    We bind the death of innocent babies, they won’t die anymore.

    We do that through;
    1. Prayer without ceasing. Praying to God destroys dark spiritual covenants like abortion. God turns the hearts of stone to hearts of flesh especially of major decision makers such as Parliamentarians.
    2. Good works which in this case is embracing and promoting ADOPTION.
    As christians, we are able to adopt rejected and neglected babies, both;
    ✓ Individually in our homes and also
    ✓ Organizationally by building homes for these babies where they will be nurtured in the knowledge and fear of God, and educated in their specific talents.

    God is able to turn these babies into blessing not only to Australia but also to the nations of the earth.
    I am praying to God for partners with whom we shall build babies homes to do this godly purpose.
    We are the light of the world. The world will only glorify our God through our good works.

    The 10 Days of Prayer and Fasting initiative sounds like exactly the kind of focused effort our communities need right now. Thank you for keeping these campaigns front and centre for people who want to join in.
