“This Must Come Down”: Australians Protest Labor’s $9.6m Paedophile Advice Site

A $9.6 million taxpayer-funded child abuse prevention website is facing fierce backlash over advice accused of normalising paedophilic attractions, with calls for Labor to act.

Furious Aussies are demanding that the Labor Government end its $9.6 million handout to a child abuse prevention website that coddles paedophiles.

Greg Brown from The Australian broke the “born that way” story on 28 October, stating that the Albanese government is standing by a taxpayer-funded website that tells paedophiles not to “beat yourself up” for having sexual fantasies about minors.

He said, “A module linked to the government-supported StopItNow! Australia website also pours doubt on whether paedophiles can stop being attracted to children, arguing it may be akin to gay-conversion therapy.”

The website is linked to a sister-site in the United Kingdom, which encourages so-called “minor-attracted people” (MAPs) to practice “mindfulness”.

According to The Australian, StopItNow! asserts, “Mindfulness can help people come to terms with their feelings about this. Compassion and self-acceptance can also be very helpful. Having a sexual interest in children can feel lonely, and you may feel society doesn’t understand your situation.”

Taxpayers Furious Over $9.6 Million Funding

Brown said that the devil-in-the-details discovery prompted the Coalition to accuse Labor of failing to prioritise the safety of children.

Taxpayers are rightly angered because while most agree on protecting children from sexual abuse, they didn’t consent to that money being spent on pampering paedophiles as well.

Former Liberal MP George Christensen was among the repulsed, leading the revolt. On his Nation First Substack page, Christensen called it sickening and argued,

“Imagine reading that if you were a survivor of child sexual abuse. Imagine reading that as a mother or father who has to pick up the pieces after sexual abuse has torn through your child’s life.

“Then imagine being told that questioning the material requires a more sophisticated appreciation of the subject.”

He added, “The innocence of every single child is something sacred. And adults have an absolute responsibility to respect it.

“As such, government-backed and taxpayer-funded material should leave absolutely no room for interpreting reassurance as permission for paedophiles to keep indulging their depraved fantasies about children.”

Demands for Government Accountability

Christensen then rightly stated twice that the Attorney General, Michelle Rowland, must explain who approved the funding, demand that the advice be reviewed, and publish those findings.

Rowland defended the funding and the website’s advice. She said that the content was in line with recommendations from the Gillard-era Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

Family First’s Lyle Shelton also called on the Albanese government to come clean, adding that StopItNow’s advice for paedophiles should be taken down.

In a piece republished by The Daily Declaration, Shelton wrote, “The logic has finally taken us there. If ‘love is love’, as we were told during the same-sex marriage campaign, then why would adult-child erotic love be any different?

“That’s where the Albanese Government has come to. It’s pure evil.”

To this, he asserted, “There is no place in civil society for justifying paedophilia or for holding feelings of sexual attraction towards children.

“People with those feelings should be required to get immediate professional help, not told their condition is like homosexuality and cannot be changed.”

On X, the Family First boss applauded West Australian Liberal Party Senator Matt O’Sullivan for bringing the website’s advice to the attention of the Australian Senate.

Condemnation of Controversial Advice

Shelton thanked the Shadow Minister for Child Protection, while also stating that he was disappointed to see the Attorney General defend the sexual abuse prevention website offering sex advice for paedophiles.

“This might have been a recommendation of the Royal Commission into institutional child sexual abuse,” Shelton said, “but that doesn’t mean it should be implemented. Mums and dads don’t want paedophiles being told they can’t change.

“Dealing with perversion is always difficult, but to say there is no pathway to healing is to leave someone in a horrible addiction without hope. That is bad for the individual and poses unacceptable risks to society.

“The Albanese government must immediately remove this content from the internet. Protecting children must come first.”

Another high-profile figure disgusted with Albo’s funding of the advice was retired 2GB Radio legend, Ray Hadley.

Using his weekly vlog with The Daily Telegraph, Hadley issued the same demands as Shelton, arguing, “The website dangerously normalises vile sexual fantasies about children and should be pulled down immediately.”

The DT’s blurb said that the long-time campaigner for victims of child abuse quoted Peta Credlin, telling the government to get rid of the absolutely appalling portal.

This must be exposed, Credlin wrote in a column published by the DT on the weekend.

Despite the dangers, the News24 host said, “the government is refusing to remove it, instead declaring that it’s part of a broader strategy to reduce abuse.”

Slamming the taxpayer-funded website’s pro-pedo content, she said, “Seriously? Where the heck is the advice — in flashing lights — to seek urgent help, that abusing a child is a criminal offence?

“Worse still, there’s a module linked to the StopItNow website that all but admits pedophiles can’t be helped.”

Adding to her protest, Credlin declared, “I have never come across anything as depraved as this being funded by taxpayers.”

“This website must come down.”

Just as outraged, Libertarian councillor for Cumberland City Council, Steve Christou, said on X, “The Labor Federal Government has lost the plot.”

“Our children are off limits, and there is absolutely no room whatsoever for any sort of sympathy towards the deranged individuals who abuse children. For the sake of our society Labor needs to be voted out of all levels of Government.”

Newshound and Australian independent journalist Ryan Dally said the website’s funding is ongoing at $4 million per year.

Dally shared the news on X and closed with this fitting remark: “Child safety is not a self-help exercise. It is not ‘mindfulness’. It is not taxpayer-funded compassion for predators. The Albanese government has now stooped to the level of funding paedophiles’ ‘feel better’ guides. You cannot make this crap up.”
