“Repeat a lie often enough, and it becomes the truth” is a law of propaganda often attributed to the Nazi Joseph Goebbels.

The propaganda that we have been subjected to over the past 50 years has affected us all. Absolutely no one is unaffected. Even the mention of the word abortion can provoke indoctrinated responses. Read just some of the propaganda lies and pay attention to the thoughts you respond with. Each one of these statements has been used to spread lies — click on each one to learn how to answer these curly questions:

• My body, my choice (4 min)
• What about rape? (3 min)
• Abortion can be medically necessary (4.45 min)
• Babies with disabilities are better off aborted (4.45 min)
• Abortion will stop the world from becoming overpopulated (5 min)

Even our parliaments are unwilling to face the truth or even have it spoken about, regarding the plight of the unborn in Australia. Liberal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has announced to his party that abortion is not to be spoken about in the lead-up to the Federal Election; SA Liberal Opposition Leader Vincent Tarzia has publicly said the same, but went a step further to declare that any “Liberal MP who introduces another abortion bill to parliament won’t be welcome in the shadow cabinet”.

Then the leap off the cliff by the Queensland Liberal Premier David Crisafulli, who moved a motion without notice preventing any changes to the Termination of Pregnancy Act (Abortion Up to Birth Bill) for the next FOUR YEARS! 50 LNP Members voted in favour of this motion, blocking any move to bring the ‘Babies Born Alive Bill’, which has passed as amendments in NSW & SA to require care to be given to babies born alive in a failed late-term abortion.

This is not just a Liberal Party issue; Labor and the Greens have been at the forefront of blocking several reforms to protect babies. It is hard to comprehend that the comfort and careers of the majority of politicians are more important to them than the innocent lives of the most vulnerable Australians.

The antidote to lies is the truth.
Jesus has told us in the book of John: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Our broken world is crying out for those who know the truth to speak it.

The way we deliver this is vitally important to it being received. We must care for the eternal life of every person we encounter, as much as saving the lives of the unborn.

Mercy & Truth means never backing away from the truth, but speaking without judgement or condemnation — this is love.

We are to be the bridge between heaven and earth. The way we approach this is about being Bold & Broken.

What do I mean? Looking to scripture, Peter is a great example of this, which describes the tale of three different ways Peter responded and the outcome.

• Boldness apart from brokenness makes us a bully – this was Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane, where he cut the soldier’s ear off. He had the right intent, but only caused pain that Jesus had to miraculously restore.
• Brokenness apart from boldness makes us a bystander – this was Peter in the courtyard after Jesus was arrested. Out of the fear of man, Peter denied Jesus and was silent.
• Boldness on the foundation of brokenness makes a bridge that connects God with His people – this was Peter in Acts 2 when he spoke boldly – anointed by the Holy Spirit to all the people on the day of Pentecost. His words were significant in advancing the Kingdom of God. That mission is still advancing today, and we are all part of it.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, please help us to be the bridge between heaven and earth. Lead us today to those who need us to be this bridge for You to meet with them; guide us to bring hope, healing, mercy and truth. May our words be anointed by the Holy Spirit as we represent the heart of the Father to set people free. Lord Jesus, (gently please!) break our hearts for what breaks Yours and strengthen us to fear God and not man, to be like the wild stallion broken under the hand of the master — now his most prized possession to do his work. In Yeshua’s Name, Amen.

Prayer Points

• Pray that the Spirit of Truth goes forth to make abortion unthinkable in Australia.
• That the Body of Christ unifies in prayer and advocacy, upholding the sanctity of life from conception to natural death in our unique spheres of influence — speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.
• Pray for the Lord to bless and empower men (according to Malachi 4:6) to lead in the protection of women and children.
• That Australians will vote according to the defence of LIFE in all the upcoming elections. That the political leaders who have muzzled the politicians from any discussion or bills about abortion — repent, and these bans be lifted in Qld, SA and Federally. That the Babies Born Alive (Human Rights — Children Born Alive Protection Bill 2021) tabled in the Australian Federal Parliament be passed with no more delay, legislating across Australia that babies born alive after a failed abortion, receive proper medical care and legal protection.
• That every church across Australia be a trusted place of mercy and compassion, operating as a House of Refuge. Creating havens of safety and acceptance for those experiencing an unplanned/crisis pregnancy or who have been hurt by a previous abortion.
• For Hubs of Love to be established in every city and town in the nation.
• Women and men in crisis to phone the compassionate and confidential Pregnancy Help Australia or visit a life-affirming pregnancy centre — being protected from pro-abortion doctors or clinics.
• That the abortionist doctors and nurses involved will have the spiritual veil of deception removed to see the humanity of the unborn — causing deep repentance. Help the Body of Christ to be ready to lead them in healing.
• We pray for every state and territory of Australia to arise in the cause of defending life in the womb from the tragedy of abortion and come together to walk for life. A blessing on the “Walk for Life Adelaide” on 8 February 2025 and “March for Life” Brisbane — date TBA, Mackay “March for the Babies” in October, “March for the Babies” Melbourne, Perth’s Rally for Life in May, and for all Territories and States to join in and hold a Walk for Life in their city/region.
• Pray for Love Adelaide’s Walk for Life 2025 on 8^th February from 10am-12pm to grow in momentum and fruitfulness. Pray for effective doors of favour to open, health and strength for the leaders, speakers and volunteers, for finances, safety and perfect weather.
