Day 4: Are You The Intercessor God Is Looking For?

4 May 2020

2.3 MINS

Intention
God is looking for someone who will intercede for their nation: are you that person?

Scripture

“Transgressing and denying the Lord, and turning away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving in and uttering from the heart lying words. Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the street, and uprightness cannot enter. Yes, truth is lacking; and he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey. Now the Lord saw, and it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice. And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then His own arm brought salvation to Him, and His righteousness upheld Him.”
Isaiah 59:13-16

Reflection
We can’t deny that the verses above describe the condition of our nation quite accurately. Not many people are thinking about God. They continued to live their ungodly lifestyles. What was wrong is now considered right and what was right is now seen as wrong. Christians are being oppressed and persecuted openly in the public square. Those who are bold enough to stand up for the truth are being targeted, humiliated and abused.

What is evil will attract judgement, because God is a just God, and the wages of sin is death. But God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to die on the cross for all humanity. He did this so that whosoever believes in Jesus and repents from their evil ways will not perish, but have eternal life.

When God was about to bring judgment to Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham pleaded with God. When God was about to judge the Israelites for creating and worshipping the golden calf, Moses pleaded with God. God said, “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face, I will heal their land.” Jesus wept when He saw Jerusalem during His triumphant entry.

All of Heaven is pulsating to invade earth with God’s love, and with a fresh move of the Holy Spirit. God is looking for a man or a woman who will intercede and plead to Him for their nation. Will you be that man or woman who will be responsible for bringing down the fresh outpouring and revival in our beloved nation of Australia?

Prayer
Father, I stand in the gap for our nation, Australia. Forgive us for our many sins, Lord. I know You have a great plan for this Great Southland of the Holy Spirit. Pour out Your Spirit upon us. We ask for the spirit of repentance to flood this land. We pray that Australia will return to her destiny.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
