A New Book to Make Sense of 2020

2.3 MINS

Two weeks ago I released my new book Cross and Culture: Can Jesus Save the West? I’ve been overwhelmed with the response — over 600 copies have sold in that time, and we’re on to our second print run.

I begin Cross and Culture with a simple premise: something isn’t right in the Western world. The chaotic events of 2020 have only served to highlight deeper issues that have long been lying dormant — whether our looming mental health crisis, growing trends like censorship and superstition, or our desperate search for meaning.

In the face of all of this, I am convinced that we have every reason for hope — if we know where to look.

Cross and Culture contains many stories and insights from my adventures around Australia, the United States, and South East Asia. In it, I include discussions of architecture, contemporary music, modern art, philosophy, history, politics and more.

There are three underlying questions I seek to address in Cross and Culture:

Last week, I was interviewed about the book on Vision Radio by Neil Johnson. You can listen to that interview here. My good friend and colleague Warwick Marsh has also produced a short promotional video for the book.

For the next few weeks, Cross and Culture will remain at the special introductory price of $24.95 (plus shipping). For customers outside of Australia, the paperback can be purchased via Amazon. And the Kindle version is of course available worldwide.
