Transgenderism is a Massive, Uncontrolled Experiment on Children
“Removing healthy breasts is irrevocable and unconscionable,” said Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D., in response to the California Department of Insurance stating insurance companies must pay for the breast removal of teenaged girls “transitioning” to boys.
Further, these operations are no longer to be considered cosmetic but required “reconstructive” surgery to remove “abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects.” Morse responded, “How’s that for a string of euphemisms?
“Is anyone telling these children that this move is irrevocable?” Morse asked.
“Is anyone telling them that regardless of how they feel in the future, they are giving up their ability to breastfeed a child forever?”
Morse also noted:
“Late last year, a high court in the United Kingdom ruled that minors suffering from gender dysphoria are unable to give informed consent to hormone-blocking drugs. But in California, minors can consent to double mastectomies.
“The California Department of Insurance has become a rubber stamp for the gay lobby,” Morse said. “Its decision isn’t medical but ideological. It’s based on the dogma that if a teenaged girl decides she’s a boy and wants to have her body surgically altered to resemble that of a boy, her decision must be celebrated and facilitated.
“What insanity, for someone in authority to tell impressionable teenaged girls that if they think they might want to be a boy, their breasts are just getting in the way and they should go under the surgeon’s knife.”
Dr. Michelle Cretella, MD, FCP, President of the American College of Pediatricians flatly stated:
“This active promotion of transgenderism has resulted in massive uncontrolled and unconsented experimentation on children and adolescents. This is child abuse.”
Dr. Cretella spoke at the Ruth Institute’s 2020 Summit for Survivors of the Sexual Revolution on “Medical Tragedies of the Sexual Revolution.”
On January 5, Morse was interviewed on the California Insurance Department’s decision on the One America News Network:
