Days of Holiness ~ Day 25: Lift Up Your Prayer

25 January 2021

3.7 MINS

It is recorded in Isaiah 37 and in 2 Kings 19, the account of the distressed king Hezekiah consulting Isaiah the prophet. In Isaiah 37:3-7 it states:

They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah,
This day is a day of distress, of rebuke, and of disgrace;
children have come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring them forth.
It may be that the Lord your God heard the words of the Rabshakeh,
whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God,
and will rebuke the words that the Lord your God has heard;
therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.”

When the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah, Isaiah said to them,

“Say to your master,
‘Thus says the Lord: Do not be afraid because of the words that you have heard,
with which the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled Me.
I myself will put a spirit in him, so that he shall hear a rumor, and return to his own land;
I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.’”

The taunting of the mockers caused a loss of strength to bring the children to birth. In our days, this is both physical — in the making of the law to abort the unborn, and spiritual — to stop the promises being fulfilled in our days. May the Lord put a spirit of rumour into the promoters of full-term abortion — and to every mocking spirit against His people — the battle is the Lord’s to fight and win.

Let us Pray:
Our Father in Heaven, we thank You for Your word that records a time in history when there were mockers against You, the living God — it was a day of distress and disgrace as the children had come to a place of birth, and there was no strength to bring them forth.

Lord, we thank You that You brought deliverance for Hezekiah and his people. Lord, we look to You for that same deliverance in our day to cause the enemy, who mocks and taunts You, to hear a spirit of rumour, and return to his own land and there fall by his own sword. May this happen to every spirit that is promoting death and destruction to lives — especially the unborn, even up to the point of birth.

Lord, we choose to not be afraid — we look to You and worship You this day. We ask for You to increase awareness for the Walk for Life, and hide it from the mocking spirits and any evil agendas. Let favour go before us, and doors open that no man can close.

Lord, we ask that You shut the door to the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020 in the South Australian Parliament from being voted on before the Walk for Life on Feb 6th. We bless those who are standing steadfast in You, who are fighting for the unborn right across our Nation.

We decree that there is strength for every child to be brought forth to birth! We receive them into our nation with joy and celebration — we bless each child born in 2021 and beyond into Your abundant life!
In Jesus’ powerful Name we pray, Amen.

Abundant grace to you as we continue in prayer and fasting according to Mark 9:29 ~

He answered them, “This type of powerful spirit can only be cast out by fasting and prayer.”

Points for Prayer ~ pray for:

  • South Australia’s Lower House politicians, that they be infused with truth and light for the sanctity of life – even of the unborn. Pray for a majority to vote no to this bill and take courage to defeat the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020 the week of Feb 3rd 2021.
  • The Walk for Life, February 6th 2021 in Adelaide, South Australia.
  • For our future generations to be rescued from the horror of death through abortion!
    Let the spirit of adoption enter the hearts of those considering abortion,
    to carry to full term and save their child’s life.
  • For greater numbers of believers in Jesus all over Australia and the South Pacific region to awaken to the battle and stand for life — to rise up in wisdom and courage to take action needed and speak for the voiceless.
  • For the church to become a haven of hope and help for those with unplanned pregnancies.

To send the intended influential message to our politicians
that South Australians DO NOT want legalised abortion up to birth,
we need thousands of people on the WALK for LIFE!

It will take each of us to SPREAD THE WORD through all our networks!
