Days of Holiness ~ Day 27: Holy Hands

27 January 2021

3.7 MINS

Paul writes to the Church in 1 Timothy 2:8 (NKJV) ~

“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere,
lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”

The HCSB version says:

“Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray,
lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.”

And The Voice Bible states:

So here’s what you tell them; here’s what I want to see:
Men, pray wherever you are. Reach your holy hands to Heaven
— without rage or conflict — completely open.”

It is clear here that there is a model for prayer. Paul is addressing the conduct of the men of the church telling them to pray everywhere, wherever you are, in every place.

They are to lift up holy hands to Heaven in surrender and worshipful expectation to our Heavenly Father without rage or conflict, without wrath or doubting, without anger or argument.

These are holy hands that have let go of offence and been cleansed by the blood of Yeshua. These holy hands have become like those of a child reaching up to their Daddy, in a relationship of trust and confidence in the protection and provision of His goodness.

May we all cleanse our hands and purify our hearts to all let go of doubt and anger, and lift our holy hands to Heaven in prayer.

Let us Pray:
Heavenly Father, You are so holy; we thank You for the invitation to come to You, and everywhere we are — lift up holy hands in prayer. Lord, we ask for more men, to be aware of their place of representing You, Holy Father, in this stand for the lives of the unborn.

Lord, cleanse the anger and argument out of Your church. We offer up to You our hands for cleansing this day; we place at Your feet all offence and anger that leads to bitterness. We turn away from and repent of all doubting. We receive the fresh cleansing of Your precious powerful blood, Yeshua — the blood You took into the Holy of Holies for all humanity to be saved.

We lift our holy hands in adoration and worship. We pray for those who have no voices, the babies in the womb, asking that they be rescued from abortion. Lord, inspire us, and especially the men, who have pure hearts and clean hands to believe in Your deliverance, to turn back the tide of abortion that is rampant in our nation.

Lord, You are our deliverer — lead us in the fight and let us see the victory, so we can give You all the glory. Cause Your church to have one heart and one mind across this nation concerning life for the unborn. Give us a voice that speaks mercy and that will not relent until every mother is provided for, protected and loved, and every father is supported and mentored on how be responsible to raise his family, and that every child be raised in a safe, loving home.

Lord, may we be those who stand with holy hands wherever we are, praying the prayers on Your heart to rescue the unborn and raise our voices for all affected by abortion. We bless, honour and magnify Your Holy Name, Lord Jesus, we pray Yeshua. Amen.

Abundant grace to you as we continue in prayer and fasting according to Mark 9:29 ~

He answered them, “This type of powerful spirit can only be cast out by fasting and prayer.”

Points for Prayer ~ pray for:

  • South Australia’s Lower House politicians, that they be infused with truth and light for the sanctity of life – even of the unborn. Pray for a majority to vote no to this bill and take courage to defeat the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020 the week of Feb 3rd 2021.
  • The Walk for Life, February 6th 2021 in Adelaide, South Australia.
  • For our future generations to be rescued from the horror of death through abortion!
Let the spirit of adoption enter the hearts of those considering abortion,
to carry to full term and save their child’s life.
  • For greater numbers of believers in Jesus all over Australia and the South Pacific region to awaken to the battle and stand for life — to rise up in wisdom and courage to take action needed and speak for the voiceless.
  • For the church to become a haven of hope and help for those with unplanned pregnancies.

To send the intended influential message to our politicians
that South Australians DO NOT want legalised abortion up to birth,
we need thousands of people on the WALK for LIFE!

It will take each of us to SPREAD THE WORD through all our networks!
