Days of Holiness ~ Day 29: Holy Thoughts

29 January 2021

3.8 MINS

Today’s scriptures are reminders and invitations to keep our thoughts aligned with holiness, so we remain in the mind of Christ and focused on victory. With hope and faith, this always leads us to praise Him. We do not want to fall into the trap of continually thinking on the works of evil, magnifying them instead of shining the light of the Lord’s glory.

Philippians 4:8 (TPT) says:

So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real,
honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind.
And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising Him always.

We may feel to pray with David from Psalm 51:10 (TPT):

“Create a new, clean heart within me.
Fill me with pure thoughts and holy desires, ready to please You.”

The word used for “create” here is the same used in Genesis: to make something out of nothing. David knew that the only goodness he had was that which God had placed within him.

David had sinned badly and tried to cover it up, but it had been exposed. Now he wanted a new creation heart — not just the old one changed — he was asking for God to renew a reliable spirit in his inner being. As we live out our days, there are times we are humbled and can join in his prayer.

We are to fix our thoughts and refocus our attention again and again on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten our thoughts on every glorious work of God. This can be the warfare — to remain in heart rest, and as we do this, we remain uplifted and able to praise Him and intercede from hearts full of holy desires, and minds full of pure thoughts.

Let us Pray:
Heavenly Father, in these days where there is an information overload, and so much we hear and think about can be evil, we choose to obey Your word and shift our thoughts to what is Holy and Pure, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, merciful and kind, so that the words coming out of our mouths are in line with bringing You glory.

May we be a people of praise even as we stand on Parliament steps, or Walk for Life, or speak to politicians. Even as we are confronted with the tragedy of abortion, we ask for You to continually renew the hearts of Your people so we carry Your hope and solutions, and bring light instead of negativity and fear.

????SA Say Sorry Day ????

Today allowed many to respond to the grief of abortion by laying tributes of flowers & personal messages.’

Lord, we thank You for the new creation hearts we received when we first believed — may we Your holy nation of believers be filled with pure thoughts and holy desires that please You. May we be those You can use to speak truth to our nation and shift the nation back to justice for the unborn. We ask You to fulfill Your word as it says in Isaiah 28:6 ~

“For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment,
and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.”

We look for Your spirit of justice for the unborn! We praise Your holy Name Lord Jesus, Amen.

Abundant grace to you as we continue in prayer and fasting according to Mark 9:29 ~

He answered them, “This type of powerful spirit can only be cast out by fasting and prayer.”

Points for Prayer ~ pray for:

  • South Australia’s Lower House politicians, that they be infused with truth and light for the sanctity of life – even of the unborn. Pray for a majority to vote no to this bill and take courage to defeat the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020 the week of Feb 3rd 2021.
  • The Walk for Life, February 6th 2021 in Adelaide, South Australia.
  • Rescue for all the unborn from death through abortion.
  • For greater numbers of believers in Jesus all over Australia and the South Pacific region to awaken to the battle and stand for life — to rise up in wisdom and courage to take action needed and speak for the voiceless.
  • For the church to restore the belief that every life is worthy of respect, protection, and care, and to lead the nation in extravagantly assisting those who find they have an unexpected pregnancy.

To send the intended influential message to our politicians
that South Australians DO NOT want legalised abortion up to birth,
we need thousands of people on the WALK for LIFE!

It will take each of us to SPREAD THE WORD through all our networks!
