Day 1: Let’s Go for the Gospel in May 2021
Intention
Why preach the good news?
Scripture
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
Reflection
Imagine a dark night and cars travelling at speed towards a ravine, the bridge across the ravine has been washed away in a storm, and the road lighting is out, also due to the storm.
What would you do?
Of course, most people would try to warn the traffic heading for the ravine by whatever means necessary.
We have a world ravaged by sin. The wages or consequences of sin is death and eternal suffering in a lake of fire, which is the ravine in my analogy. People need saving!
What is sin?
Ultimately Isaiah defined it as ‘We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way’. Going our own way without listening to God.
This defines modern society; everyone is about themselves with no regard to God’s moral law that shows our need for Him.
I could expand on the sins of the world, but they are obvious. Refer: 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
Sufficient to remind us that anyone who’s name is not in the Lamb’s book of life will end up in a lake of fire. Revelation 20:15
I see the law in terms of the TV series, Bondi Rescue, where the lifeguards tell people to swim between the flags in safety (obeying God’s laws) and those that keeping swimming in unsafe rips. People ultimately die because of their disobedience to law as proclaimed by the lifeguards and great efforts by the lifeguards to try to rescue people.
We are lifeguards when we speak the truth of the Gospel.
But preaching repentance from Sin is uncomfortable and people do not want to feel rejected?
True, the Gospel is an offence, but it is way better to warn people than let them die an eternity in the lake of fire.
There is not rejection of people, just a warning and showing the way to receive salvation and the love of the Lord.
We are on an eternal life and death rescue mission, so let’s GO for the Global Outreach, to warn people of impending disaster and the salvation available only in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, Yeshua Hamashiach!
Let’s also come together for prayer each night during May on Zoom (when you can) to support each other and call forth salvation for Australia, the region, and the nations.
How to share the Gospel.
Just talk with people, and when an opportunity opens up use an easy conversational model is based on the four letters P P R R (Plan, Problem, Remedy, Response) where you lead the conversion through the 4 words:
Refer: https://stepstopeace.org/
PLAN – John 10:10 – God has a PLAN for your life and above all wants to be in loving relationship with you
PROBLEM – Isaiah 53:6 & Romans 3:23 – the PROBLEM is that we are separated from God by Sin
REMEDY – John 3:15-16 – God’s REMEDY is that while we are sinners Christ has died for us
RESPONSE – John 1:12 & Romans 10:9-10 – What is your RESPONSE? What are you going to do about it? We need to confess and believe
Another way is the 3 Circles method, and the Gospel in 7 app.
It does not matter which method you use, but that you do share the good news of Jesus to those around you in daily life.
Prayer
Lord, please give me the boldness to tell my story about your Love and Salvation. Let the people I share with be convicted by you Holy Spirit so that they would know Your love and come to Your saving grace through faith. Above all, let me be salt and light in this dying world. Amen

Identificational repentance is a very powerful corporate, priestly (1 Peter 2:9) prayer weapon, in which believers stand in the gap for their family, church, city, or nation by naming the sins that have shaped a people, confessing them before God, and turning from those patterns in heartfelt humility.
