Day 14: Jesus Has Every Answer
Intention
To know what God’s character is like, we need look no further than the fruit of the Spirit—“love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance”.
Scripture
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”—Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV)
Reflection
There is not a thought, problem, or circumstance that Jesus does not have a victorious solution to, though we must remember: it may take perseverance for it to come to pass. The Word of God has every answer needed, including what is unique to you. The Spirit of God reveals these as we seek Him in worship, prayer, and the Word.
Abba will relate to you personally and where you are at with open arms, full acceptance, and approval. He will love you through your darkness, addiction, fear, or anxiety (see Luke 15:11-32). The blood of our beautiful, gracious Saviour Jesus Christ, God’s Son, made this possible. Jesus defeated the worst of sins, sickness, calamities, and failure (see Isaiah 53:4-5).
God is peace. Therefore, He will communicate and work with you in peace, beauty, and love. He is not confusion or chaos. God treasures you so much because you believed and asked Jesus to be your Lord. Hence God’s Son, the Christ, lives in you (see Romans 10:9-10 and Colossians 1:27). Because Christ is in you, God is delighted with you day and night in the midst of your struggles and sin. Keep trusting His goodness, grace and mercy to bring you through.
Romans 2:4 reads, “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” We bring great pleasure to Him when we step out in faith to speak of ‘His goodness to us’ even when we may feel ‘not good enough’ or ‘hypocritical’.
While we tell others of our tender-hearted, forgiving God, it will not only help to bring repentance and freedom to them: it also strengthens our resolve regarding His goodness and victory, despite what we are feeling, seeing, or hearing. We declare the same things that God says about Himself and about ourselves. Amen to the Word of God and the covenant of the cross! If we do not quit, we will have our freedom and victory (see 1 John 5:4-5).
Prayer
Thank you, Father God. You have freed us from fear of punishment and failure because Your Son Jesus Christ took all punishment—past, present and future—at the cross of Calvary. It is a Father and Son/Daughter relationship that You desire with us. You don’t require perfect performance, but an honest and open prayer life with You. It does not matter how many times we fail and sin; You forgive us. We are safe with you forever. Thank You for Your Scriptures to teach us, direct our steps, heal our hearts, correct us, and most of all, to reveal Jesus, and God’s great love for us. Help us to focus on this unconditional love in Your Word, and not on our failings. Thank You Lord. We are so grateful! Amen.
