Scripture

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
Revelation 3:15-20

Reflection
The lukewarm church in the book of Revelation describes the spiritual condition of the church of Laodicea. The city of Laodicea was the centre of business and trade.

The atmosphere of prosperity had led to the church becoming lukewarm and apathetic. They compromised the things of God, which lead to spiritual laziness and apathy. They were no longer responsive to the Holy Spirit. They didn’t realise their need to repent.

Wake Up! Get up! Grow up! Fellowship with God is easily lost through laziness. The world will pull us away from God, but the Holy Spirit will keep us hot in everything. Man’s ideas are not always God’s ideas. Hold firm on to God’s Word. Have we taken His blessings for granted?

In this time it is important to listen to the Holy Spirit and walk so close to God and to know your righteousness and to pray. Allow the things of the world to grow dim – it is a choice. It is our choice to let fear in and allow it to overtake us. It is our choice to step out of darkness and into His light. We make choices all the time. God wants us to make right choices.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

Ask yourself, what are you watching and listening to? What are you meditating on and saying? We need to bring every thought captive into the obedience of Christ. Wrong thinking will tear you down.

If a promise is in His Word, we do not need to pray for it to be ours — it already is ours. We pray what the Holy Spirit shows us. God has appointed us, the children of God, to walk in victory. Some things, we just receive — namely, the promises of God.

We are the church and there is a spiritual war going on. It is time for the church to wake up, get up, and grow up. We are seated in heavenly places by grace through faith. Meditate on the Word, so revelation and understanding grow.

Repentance comes before revival. Turn away from the things which have a hold on you. It is time to walk in it, growing in the knowledge and revelation of the Word. If you fill up on wrong things, it will bring fear. Abraham called things that were not into existence. Call on the promises of God until they manifest in your life.

Fear is a great evil in these times. God’s love is in us. We have a choice as to how we respond. Love never fails. It is our reaction that counts – we need to release His love. Activate love even when you don’t feel like it. Declare: ‘I have all power and authority’.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

Things that are not seen are eternal. Faith is in the unseen realm. Plead the blood of Jesus over your town, your city, and this wonderful nation. Words are powerful. Know His unction and the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. When we have trouble hearing, it is time for some things to drop off us. God wants the whole man — spirit, soul and body.

Faith is not a feeling or an emotion. We have a choice as to what we speak. Receive a Word from the Holy Spirit. Take time to release what He gives you through prayer. Release what He gives you for the city to replenish the city and the nation. Speak out ‘prophetic missiles’. God’s Word is more powerful than a torpedo. Stay close to God in this time.

Prayer
Father God, we thank You that You have given us a choice, and today we choose You! Realign me with Your plans and purposes today. Holy Spirit, give me ears to hear Your direction and guidance and the courage to step out and share my faith in word and deed. I thank You that, as I pray, my words are powerful and the angels are harkening to my prayers. Therefore, I pray that Australia will be the nation You have called her to be, the Great South Land of Holy Spirit. I activate myself today to be the Good News to all I come in contact with. I set You as my priority and thank You that I am a child of God! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
