Sexual predators don’t offend Facebook’s “community standards”
Facebook May Be Liable for Trafficking, Court Says
On Friday, the Texas Supreme Court ruled that Facebook may be held liable for sex traffickers who use its platform to prey on minors.
The social media giant denies responsibility and claims it has no way to police such postings.
Ruth Institute President Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D, responded,
“Facebook is showing its true colours. It has no trouble censoring conservatives and shutting down groups whose speech offends its politically-correct sensibilities. They could certainly shut down child exploitation if they wanted to. But Facebook is part of the Global Ruling Class and the Sexual Deep State.”
Morse noted that in May, Facebook permanently deplatformed LifeSiteNews, supposedly for spreading “COVID-19 disinformation.” The real reason, Morse said, was that,
“The site is a powerful voice against the abortion lobby and radical LGBTQ agenda that had to be silenced. This could be seen in the fact that a number of groups like the National Abortion Rights Action League and the Human Rights Campaign took credit for the move.
“You must appreciate the irony here,” Morse observed.
“Facebook claims it can’t monitor sites that promote the sexual exploitation of children, but it can scour its platform for sites that promote what it calls ‘disinformation’ on COVID-19.”
Facebook isn’t the only tech giant with a double standard. In August 2020, Amazon stopped selling The Health Hazards of Homosexuality: What Medical and Psychological Research Reveals, claiming the book contains “content that is considered offensive,” despite having sold it for several years.
Morse asked, “Offensive to whom? How can medical science be offensive? Apparently when it runs contrary to Big Tech’s political agenda.” To counter this Tech tyranny, the Ruth Institute developed a Censorship and Propaganda Resource Center.
“Amazon says a book of medical and scientific research on the health hazards of homosexuality is ‘offensive,’ but offers books like The Joy of Gay Sex and Fist Me! A Guide to Anal Fisting.”
Morse concluded:
“Apparently, the sexual exploitation of minors does not offend Facebook’s nebulous community standards.”
The Ruth Institute’s 2021 Survivors’ Summit, “Reclaiming the Professions for Life and Family,” July 16-17 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, will be the premiere event for leaders, activists and professionals fighting the Sexual Revolution.
