Roe v. Wade Overturned!
The global fight against the evil of abortion has just been given a huge boost by the overturning of Roe v. Wade. This major victory shows that it is possible to overcome the culture of death with the culture of life, with much patience, prayer and persistence.
It is almost too much to believe, although a scurrilous leaker at the United States Supreme Court gave us fair warning it was coming.
The judicial and moral abomination that is the Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, legalising abortion for any reason up to the time of birth by judicial fiat, has finally been overturned.
The victory for the right to life is a legacy of Donald J. Trump who, more so than any other United States President in recent history, actually did something tangible in office to help the pro-life cause by appointing sensible conservative Justices to the Supreme Court.
This perhaps makes Trump the greatest President in US history and casts a pall over other politicians — in the US and elsewhere — who cuddle up to Christian and pro-life voters but do little or nothing to deliver outcomes for them.

The implications of this moment are almost too enormous to contemplate, but in no particular order, here are a few.
1. This moment represents the greatest pushback of ‘progressivism’ in American history.
Let’s hope it’s not the last.
It is difficult to put into words how important abortion has become to ‘progressives’, but seeing their hysteria over this decision certainly must show it quite clearly.
Abortion is almost a sacrament to them, and after almost 50 years, they finally have their landmark victory ensuring it toppled.
Almost as much as that fact itself is what it represents: a concerted pushback against their dark ideology that is only gaining steam.
Pushback against critical race theory, the radical LGBTQ+ agenda, sexualising children in schools, corporate wokeness, open borders, their deliberate economic destruction, and their globalist agenda is only gaining steam, and they know it.
If it’s possible, that only dials up their panic by orders of magnitude.
It’s not just abortion on which they are losing, but whole slates of their most sacred agenda items.
2. If ‘progressives’ really think that two-thirds of Americans are on their side with respect to abortion, they are in for a big surprise.
Time and again, progressives have insisted that the Supreme Court has no right to overturn Roe v. Wade because two-thirds of Americans are opposed to overturning it.
Leaving aside the fact that law is never decided by polls, they are so badly deluded on this that they are setting themselves up for a shock.
That polling does indeed exist, but it also doesn’t make sense for at least two reasons.
First, while two-thirds of Americans supposedly support Roe v. Wade, a majority of Americans support banning abortions after 15 weeks’ gestation (which was what was at issue in this particular decision) and almost exactly half support a ban after six weeks.
Only around 20% of Americans support unfettered abortion up to the point of birth.
What’s more, the number of Americans who identify as pro-life/pro-choice is almost evenly divided and has been for over a decade.
A very recent poll even suggests a majority of Americans are pro-life.
(In Australia, polling results are similar, with one State showing that a majority oppose abortion on demand at any time during a pregnancy and that they believe abortion always involves the taking of a human life.)
Second, if it is true that so many Americans are so solidly in favour of abortion, then why is it that in so many states, pro-life politicians are voted into office so often that laws such as the one in front of the Supreme Court are routinely passed into law and have been for decades?
The fact is, ‘progressives’ can scream that they have majority support for their abortion views, but in the only polls that matter — elections — way too many pro-life politicians win their elections for this to even be remotely true.
So why does there appear to be such support for keeping Roe v. Wade on the books?
Simple.
Americans have been lied to for decades by Democrat politicians and activists, claiming that all abortion will be outlawed if it is overturned.
Now, they will quickly realise that they have been lied to for decades by those same politicians, and if they think that telling a lie that big for so long is going to endear them to voters, they have another thing coming.
3. This moment came about because of decades of perseverance by people who refused to let this deadly ruling remain the status quo.
This is one thing that makes this victory so sweet.
Even though the fight that has led to this moment has been decades in coming, and many would have long since given up on it ever coming to pass, the fact that so many Americans fought for so long to end the moral abomination of abortion, or at least to get it to this point where it is no longer enforced by judicial fiat on all 50 states, is a testament to Americans’ tenacity to push back against such a deadly evil.
Now, that same tenacity will still be in place as those same activists who have fought for this moment for 50 years will keep fighting until this moral evil is pushed back in all 50 states.
Outside of the USA, the global fight against the evil of abortion has been given a huge boost.
The US Supreme Court’s decision is a beacon for the ultimate liberty — the right to life — in a dark world that increasing bereft of true freedoms.
And that beacon shines its light on but one thing: victory. But only if we continue, earnestly, to fight for life in the face of setbacks, hostility and even cultural exclusion.
It may take decades more, but that fight is worth it!
God bless you, your family, our nation and the unborn child!

I’m happy to concur with you that President Trump may well go down in history as the greatest president of the United States of America. God can use all sorts: remember Samson!
And if his (Trump’s) response was to give the glory to God, it shows a becoming humility, bearing in mind as one of the previous writers commented, that God put him there knowing that those vacancies on the bench were about to come up during his one term. In fact as the apostle Paul would have said, it came to pass at just the right time.
