National Day of Mourning: A Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
A short tribute by the Canberra Declaration team to the late Queen Elizabeth II on this national day of mourning. We encourage you to watch the full funeral service to Her Majesty, held in Westminster Cathedral.
The team at the Canberra Declaration acknowledges the life and faithful service of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on this national day of mourning. We do so with both joy and sadness, realising that the Queen’s death marks the end of a significant era in our nation’s history. We are thankful for the faithfulness with which the Queen ministered to her people in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, including in Australia.
The Queen’s personal faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour was evidenced through the way she lived. Similarly, she often spoke boldly of the truth of the Gospel. Her character and faith were an inspiration and role model for billions around the world.
As has been highlighted, Elizabeth’s powerful funeral service was a testament to her radiant and sincere faith. We encourage you to watch the full event if you have not done so yet.
May God bless our new king, King Charles III, and grant him wisdom as he begins his reign.
The Canberra Declaration Team
