The Bride of Christ

Day 12: The Bride of Christ

2 February 2023

3.2 MINS

There has never been a time since the ascension of Jesus where the Bride of Christ has not had to war against death and destruction. In these days, the battle is for the lives of the unborn, who are being aborted at a rate of over 80,000 per year in Australia. The true Bride of Jesus, Yeshua is no longer sleeping, but is fully aware and fully awake to come against the destruction of the generations.

Jesus has a radiant bride, the Church, who is being perfected to bring Him the rich spoils of victory! She is described in Proverbs 31 (TPT), “Khayil” in Hebrew, as “a woman of strength and mighty valour… full of wealth and wisdom… she brings Him what is good, not evil… she is mighty like an army, morally righteous… His virtuous overcoming Bride… His warring Bride!

Those who are hearing what the Spirit is saying to the Churches are crying out in prayer, and also are taking their seats of government to serve the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

“She tastes and experiences a better substance,
and her shining light will not be extinguished,
no matter how dark the night.
She stretches out her hands to help the needy
and she lays hold of the wheels of government.
She is known by her extravagant generosity to the poor,
for she always reaches out her hands to those in need.
She is not afraid of tribulation,
for all her household is covered
in the dual garments of righteousness and grace.
Her clothing is beautifully knit together —
a purple gown of exquisite linen.
Her husband is famous and admired by all,
sitting as the venerable judge of his people.
Even her works of righteousness
she does for the benefit of her enemies.”
~ Proverbs 31:18-24 (TPT)

Prayer

Father, thank You for choosing a Bride for Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for Your righteousness and cleansing by the blood of the Lamb — bless our partaking of Jesus’s body in Holy Communion, that we may constantly abide in Him.

Bless Your Bride as she offers a hand to women in crisis and takes her appointed seat in government to bring much-needed change. Lord, we gratefully receive Your provision to be generous to those in need.

In Your strength, Lord, we are not afraid of tribulation, but boldly stand robed in Jesus’s righteousness and grace. Bless your warring Bride as she works in this fight for justice and mercy for the unborn. In Your Victorious Name we pray, King Jesus, Amen.

Prayer Points

  • Ask for a bountiful blessing on every pro-life organisation and pregnancy help centre in Australia. Pray there be many more effective ministries and helps be established, who out of love for Jesus will serve to help rescue babies, educate society, especially young ones, and bring recovery to women, men and families torn apart by abortion.
  • We pray for every state and territory of Australia to come together to stand for life! For hearts to be awakened and every Christian to rally to rescue the unborn as the church rises up to “Walk for Life Adelaide” on 11 February and “March for Life” Brisbane — date TBA, Mackay “March for the Babies” October, and for other states to join in and hold rallies or walks in their cities.

These three current Pro-Life Issues before Parliaments:

  • Pray that the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2022 be passed speedily in 2023. This Bill will protect babies who are currently, in most states of Australia, being left to die after a failed abortion. This protection for such babies is currently law in New South Wales (2019) and South Australia (2021) as amendments to the state Termination of Pregnancy Acts. This Federal Bill, if passed, will make this legislation National. Pray for protection for the three Federal Senators Alex Antic (Liberal Party), Matthew Canavan (National Party) and Ralph Babet (United Australia Party) who presented this Bill on 30 November 2022.
  • On 28 September 2022, the Federal Senate referred an Inquiry into Universal Access to Reproductive Healthcare (abortion) to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs. This enquiry is all about broadening abortion access and entrenching it into federal law, possibly overriding state laws. Pray that the Lord stops this from occurring.
  • The passing in South Australia of the Statutes Amendment (Loss of Fetus) Amendment Bill 2022. Presented by MLC Sarah Game (One Nation). This bill would acknowledge the loss of an in-utero baby due to a criminal act, such as assault of the mother or dangerous driving — offences in their own right. This Bill is about justice and recognition of a life lost. Sadly abortion is not recognised as a criminal offence, but this bill will for the first time recognise the personhood of the unborn child.

Pray that abortion will not increase in Australia. The ACT Government has announced it will provide free abortions from 2023. There are also calls for taxpayers to fund abortions nationwide, and for nurses to be allowed to give out abortion pills.
