Drug Regulator Slammed in Court for Rubbishing Ivermectin
Ivermectin is a drug with a well-established safety profile. During Covid, it was dangerous “horse paste”. Now it’s safe again. Science!
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) exceeded its authority when telling Americans not to take ivermectin to treat Covid-19, a US judge ruled last week.
The US federal appeals court in Louisiana told the FDA it was out of bounds when in August 2021 it posted on X, formerly Twitter, “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”
Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic medication whose inventors won the Nobel Prize for medicine in 2015. With a well-established safety profile, around four billion ivermectin pills have been sold since its approval in 1987.
The FDA’s errant post, which is still visible on its X account, is the latest Covid-era abuse of power to be put in the spotlight.

Ivermectin Overdosing Stories Were Fake News
“FDA is not a physician. It has authority to inform, announce, and apprise — but not to endorse, denounce, or advise,” judge Don Willett wrote in his ruling. He added that “FDA’s posts fell on the wrong side of the line between telling about and telling to.”
The FDA made its wayward post in response to legacy media claims that Americans were overdosing on ivermectin. Those stories were later ratted out as fake news, causing embarrassment for a host of outlets, including Rolling Stone, the BBC, Business Insider, The Independent and The Guardian.
The lawsuit was filed by three doctors who had sued the FDA for effectively preventing them from prescribing ivermectin to their patients. As reported by The Australian this week:
Mary Bowden, one of the plaintiffs, claimed her ability to prescribe ivermectin for patients had been undermined by the FDA’s social media posts, which caused some pharmacies to withhold the drug, in addition to reputational damage caused.
“I’ve treated over 6000 Covid patients now and found ivermectin not only effective but also extremely safe,” she told The Australian in an interview.
Throughout the pandemic an aggressive war emerged between some doctors and pharmaceutical regulators over the utility of two off-patent drugs, ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, which some observational studies had shown to be effective if prescribed early in the onset of Covid-19 symptoms.

Drug Regulators’ Bans and Backflips on Ivermectin
The Daily Declaration was among very few media outlets in Australia to criticise Australia’s FDA equivalent, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), for banning Australian doctors from prescribing the drug.
“There are a number of significant public health risks associated with taking ivermectin in an attempt to prevent Covid-19 infection rather than getting vaccinated,” the TGA said in September 2021, when it implemented the blanket ban.
Both then and now, evidence exists that the ivermectin ban was enacted not on medical grounds but instead due to institutional bias seeking to push next-generation vaccine technology.
As even The Australian concedes, “It has been reported that US law prevented the granting of Emergency Use Authorisation for then new Covid-19 vaccines, which have generated more than $US110bn in revenue for the three US pharmaceutical giants if existing prophylactic treatments were already available.”
The TGA, which relied heavily on US medical regulators for its approval of Covid-19 vaccines, receives 96 per cent of its funding from the pharmaceutical industry, according to the British Medical Journal.
It is only sensible to ask if, in its assessment of new medications produced by the pharmaceutical industry, the TGA is influenced by its lucrative funding streams from the same pharmaceutical industry.
Ivermectin: Safe, Dangerous, and Safe Again
The TGA lifted its embargo on ivermectin on 1 June 2023. Former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations Ramesh Thakur has called into question the FDA and TGA bans and backflips on ivermectin.
Writing for the Spectator Australia last week, Thakur questioned whether “the financial interests of the pharmaceutical sector might have unduly influenced regulators’ decisions in banning the use of ivermectin”.
He then made a most pertinent inquiry: “how can a product that was considered safe for decades before 2020 but banned during 2020-22 suddenly become safe once again?”
It’s the million dollar question.
Or in this case, the tens-of-billions-of-dollars question.

There is more than enough evidence out there to show that Ivermectin is of no value against COVID-19. It also outlines the kind of improper studies which distorted results to make it appear as though Ivermectin was effective.
Besides, the original argument for Ivermectin was on the basis that there was no vaccine available. So why is this still an issue when we have such a safe and effective vaccine? “Research published in The Lancet medical journal in April 2022 shows that there is no greater risk of developing heart inflammation after a Covid-19 vaccine than after other common vaccines, including the flu jab.
Researchers from Singapore looked at the findings of 22 different studies, covering 405 million doses of different vaccines around the world – including flu, smallpox, polio, measles, mumps and rubella. Overall the rates of myocarditis and pericarditis following Covid vaccines weren’t significantly different to other vaccines, including flu, although rates of myocarditis or pericarditis in young men were higher following mRNA-based Covid vaccines such as Moderna or Pfizer.”
As for the notion that the TGA has lifted the embargo on it, the reality is that they stressed the fact that it is only safe at the dosage normally prescribed for the condition it’s designed to combat, parasites. The kind of monster doses some advocates were recommending were definitely unsafe.

My gut feeling was vindicated. How come it was over the counter available at pharmacies and then suddenly demonised?
Dr Robert Malone the pioneer of the technology that developed the “ vaccine” said there were two total lies not challenged by media eg the ABC .
1) Ivomectin is dangerous
2) Natural immunity is not as good as the “ vaccine”
