With 49 days to go until the US election, the question is not who will win, but who will live.

The Democrats describe him as a threat to democracy — a madman who will plunge America into a dystopian nightmare.

The media paint him as a cross between Hitler and Mussolini — except worse than that. Much worse.

The Secret Service insists that he is not a sitting President and, therefore, does not warrant maximum protection.

And so eight weeks after Thomas Matthew Crooks fired off a volley of shots at Donald J. Trump — one of which struck him in the ear — a second shooter has tried to assassinate the Republican leader.

Ryan Routh, brandishing an AK47, was able to get within 400m of Trump as he played a round of golf not far from his Mar-a-Lago home.

Two assassination attempts in two months.

Is it me? Or is this now becoming a pattern?

Is it me? Or are the Dems and their media machine (ABC, MSNBC, CNN and the like) sending the message that an assassination attempt on Orange Man Bad would be welcome?

Death Wish

After the first attempt on Trump’s life, the Dems held their convention in Chicago, at which they made clear in stark terms that Trump was the greatest danger to US governance in the country’s history.

Kamala Harris described Trump as a threat to America’s freedom and also said she was “glad” he was safe.

People could read what they liked into those conflicting statements.

Many on the Left were not so obtuse. They openly lamented that Trump was not dead.

Tenacious D band member Kyle Gass told a concert crowd:

“Don’t miss Trump next time”

I’d say that’s pretty unambiguous. Wouldn’t you?

I wrote a couple of months back that Trump would win the November election, if he lives to contest it.

That’s still my view. And it’s a big ‘if’.

Why would Ryan Routh not have been confident of killing Trump?

After all, the last guy who tried it had been allowed to crawl on a rooftop in clear view of the crowd, and fire off six to eight shots before law enforcement could bring themselves to stop him.

Wink. Wink.

The crook Thomas Crooks was a crook shot and missed.

Imagine what someone who knew what they were doing could do.

Dangerous Lies

There will be a third attempt on Trump’s life. The Democrats will ensure it. Not directly, of course. They’re not that silly. But nor are they that subtle.

After the first assassination attempt, they continued to tell lies about Trump.

They have insisted Trump plans a national ban on abortion. He does not.

Kamala Harris insisted during the debate that Trump promised a “bloodbath” if he loses in November. He said no such thing. And she knew it.

She also said Trump had described white supremacists in Charlottesville as “fine people”. Again, he said no such thing. And she knew that, too.

The ABC moderators knew. And yet they said nothing, despite fact-checking almost everything Trump said.

And after this second failed assassination attempt, the Left is already goading the next would-be shooter into action.

Rachel Vindman, the wife of a former US Army lieutenant colonel and sister-in-law to current Congressional candidate Eugene Vindman, wrote on Twitter:

“No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon.”

What exactly does she mean by “carry on”?

Does she mean an assassin hiding in bushes with an AK47 just 400m from a presidential candidate is nothing to worry about?

Does she mean that because Trump was not harmed others with similar ambitions should carry on?

What universe do these people live in?

MSNBC Democratic activist Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis went on TV AFTER this second assassination attempt and said:

“Let’s not pretend that Donald Trump isn’t exactly like Mussolini, exactly like Hitler… You nice Christians, kind, loving Jewish people – we’re not these people. We’re not these people. And we’re not going to get what we want if we elect this fascist, authoritarian weasel.”

MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart did not interject.

What should Americans do to a Hitlerian weasel? Smile politely? Or shoot him dead?

These vile people know exactly what they are saying.

The Democrats have tried everything to stop Trump — from conspiracies about Russian collusion to a dozen court cases prosecuting the most spurious charges imaginable.

All to no effect.

Within hours of this second kill attempt, the Dems and their supporters were reminding the public that this Mussolini-like, Hitler-like, fascist, authoritarian weasel remained at large.

There are 49 days until the US Presidential election. And the Democrats have murder on their minds.
