UK Street Preaching Senior Nurse Faces Dismissal for Misgendering LGBTQ+ Sex Offender
Jennifer Melle is the name of the woman who has thrown herself into the fight to defend Christian rights against LGBTQ+ forced speech.
The tough UK street preacher and senior nurse was racially abused, then demoted for refusing to use a male patient’s preferred female pronoun during an incident in May 2024.
The mother of three is being harassed for “misgendering a patient” despite proper medical care making it necessary to refer to the patient’s biological sex.
This is also despite the patient’s medical chart and appearance clearly identifying the patient as a biological male.
Triggered by Melle’s medical care, “Mr X” – a convicted sex offender – reacted by physically threatening the senior nurse.
Equating “transphobia” with racism, he then hurled abuse at Melle, referring to her as a “N****,” multiple times.
As explained by Christian Concern (CC) in a press release, the hospital, instead of protecting Melle, protected the convicted paedophile.
CC said Melle’s case is yet another example of UK health bureaucrats putting “trans ideology over biological reality.”
“In the name of inclusivity, the National Health Service has sided with a paedophile convicted of serious offences – over members of staff with Christian and gender-critical beliefs.”
Mr X is serving time in a maximum-security prison for luring young boys by pretending to be a teenage girl on social media – a deceptive practice generally referred to as catfishing.
Forcing Conformity
An immigrant, Melle arrived in Britain from Uganda when she was very young.
Working hard, she eventually became a passionate nurse and has worked as one for 12 years without a spot or blemish on her record.
Speaking with GB News’s Free Speech Nation, Melle said she felt like the hospital was “punishing her because of her faith.”
Melle recounted going home traumatised.
When she returned to work, Melle found out she was being investigated for disciplinary action.
Charged with insubordination for misgendering, Melle said the Hospital board “wasn’t concerned about how she was feeling.”
They were more concerned about forcing her to conform.
Challenging her Christian convictions, the hospital threw the senior nurse into Trans tribunal struggle sessions.
“These panels were trying to make me conform to the norm,” she told GBN.
“They were trying to trick me so that I would just do what they wanted.”
Despite the pressure, Melle refused to budge, saying,
“Because of my Christian faith, I cannot refer to a man as a woman or a woman as a man.
“I had to say it because according to the Word of God, Genesis 1:27, God created a male and female, and I just stood by it.”
For refusing to comply, Melle was given a final written warning, demoted, and threatened with indefinite suspension.
Fighting Back
Undeterred, the sassy senior nurse doubled down.
Rather than submit to the LGBTQ+ bullying of Christians seemingly promoted by the UK’s NHS, Melle has launched a lawsuit with the Christian Legal Centre.
Describing the case as an unprecedented fight for Christian rights, Christian Concern wrote on X that Melle’s case will be fought on the grounds of harassment and discrimination.
CC said that there is also a very strong human rights element.
They will argue that the hospital breached Article 9 ECHR to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.
Especially where health bureaucrats have tried to force Melle to go against her Christian beliefs “by seeking to compel her to use preferred pronouns.”
This isn’t the CC overstating her case.
Melle is going in to bat for more than just herself.
She joins a growing list of good Christian teachers, women, and nurses being purged from their professions by the pronoun police’s Woke war on women, and the working class.
More than this, Melle is holding fast to the words Edward Mote wrote in 1834,
“My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.”
Melle told the Telegraph, “Ever since I have expressed my Christian beliefs under extreme pressure, I have been a marked woman.”
Admirably defiant, Melle credited Christ for the support and her courage, telling GBN,
“I thank Jesus for giving me the courageous spirit that stands on the word of God. I’m a Christian girl, and I love the Lord.”
We’d be right to say Amen.
“On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand: all other ground is sinking sand.”

Vatican officials have announced that Pope Francis died early on Easter Monday at the age of 88. Catholics around the globe are mourning the loss of Pope Francis, but his papacy has had a mixed reception.
With the greatest respect- Go girl! May God bless you and give you boldness and courage to stand your ground for Christ. We need more people to be prepared to stand for the truth.
Thanks Rod for the article.
Bless you, Melli. I’ll be praying for you. I’m now 82 but even as a trainee nurse in w1960’s I was told to scrub for a surgery which turned out to be an abortion and then laughed at because of my distress. Today I would be in your position in both of my former careers – nursing and primary school teaching. May God strengthen and empower you and your legal team. Blessings.
They come against you with ……….. but you fight against them in the name of the Lord God Almighty, whom they have defiled.
The battle belongs to the Lord.
