Go and Declare God’s Word with Boldness: Day 7
Intention
To answer God’s call to open our mouths and declare His truth with courage and faith.
Scripture
“But Moses said to the Lord, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent… I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths?… Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.’”
– Exodus 4:10–12
Reflection
I’m a 40-something mum of six. My path in life hasn’t always matched the world’s expectations. Some said I should stay in my lane, that my voice was too much, or that my discernment needed someone else’s validation.
But somewhere along the way, I discovered something liberating: God wasn’t asking me to be what others expected. He was asking me to say, “Here I am.”
When Moses stood before the burning bush, his simple response – “Here I am” (Exodus 3:4) – wasn’t about location. It was about readiness, availability and willingness. Like Samuel, like Isaiah, like so many who’ve answered God’s call, it wasn’t about having all the answers – it was about simply saying yes.
We live in what the Hebrew calendar calls the Decade of Pey, the decade of the mouth. (The Hebrew letter Pey means ‘mouth’, and therefore symbolises ‘word’, ‘voice’, and ‘expression’). This season prophetically represents a time for declaring the truth of God’s Word. Not in anger or argument – but in faith, boldness, and clarity. It’s a time to open our mouths and speak life.
When God called Moses, He knew Moses didn’t feel equipped. “I am slow of speech”, Moses protested (Exodus 4:10). But God replied, “Who gave human beings their mouths?” (Exodus 4:11).
God wasn’t looking for perfection. He was looking for obedience.
Each of us has something “in our hand” that God can use. For Moses, it was a staff. For you, it might be a gift for worship, the ability to speak, write, give, or encourage. It might be your presence in your community, your workplace, or online.
The point isn’t what you have. The point is that you make it available to the Lord.
God is raising up a generation who will declare His goodness, who will speak or sing His Word, who will share testimony that points others to His faithfulness. Not everyone is called to a microphone, but everyone is called to say “Yes” when God says “Go.”
So, what’s holding you back?
Maybe it’s fear. Maybe it’s your past. Maybe it’s words spoken over you that made you doubt your place.
But if God is calling you, then your past doesn’t disqualify you – your obedience qualifies you. Step out. Break alignment with the lies. Declare the truth of who God is, and who He says you are.
Read Job 38. Read Exodus 3 and 4. Remember that the God who created the stars also formed your voice. Speak what He’s placed in your heart.
In this season, may we be those who respond like Isaiah: “Here I am. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8). Let us declare the praises of the One who called us out of darkness and into His marvellous light.

Prayer
Lord, I thank You for calling me – despite my fears, despite my past. Help me to remember who You are and what You’ve entrusted to me. Teach me to speak Your Word with boldness and to use my voice for Your glory. I declare that I am who You say I am. Here I am, Lord – send me.

Thanks Tamara ❤️
Excellent! Lord equip us to speak for You, this is the time!
Thank you for the very inspiring devotional Tamara. You have the Holy Spirit’s gift in writing- hitting the target: encouraging us to go forth in faith as Moses did, for God will be our Helper and teh One who give us the words to speak.
I love that servant heart you included and the song also.
Jesus said to take up our cross daily and to deny ourselves and to reach out to the lost. As you aid that may include a word of encouragement, an email to someone who doesn’t know the Lord yet, a fellow believer needing prayer, or a prayer of healing, outreach in the streets, at the shops, or along walking paths.
Really appreciate your obedience to God and zeal for Him and serving the people..Thank you Tamara …Go Well Go boldly
