While the world’s distracted, the real power plays happen in silence.
On June 12, the United Nations will hold a low-profile “Expert Workshop” on disinformation. No fanfare, no headlines, no public debate. Just another quiet step in a years-long plan to control what you can say and what you’re allowed to believe.
Almost no one’s talking about this UN workshop, and that’s exactly how they want it.
Because if the public truly understood what this meeting represents, a calculated move to formalise global censorship, there’d be outrage. But instead, it’s buried in dry language and UN press releases, framed as just another technical discussion on “information integrity.”
Don’t fall for it. This is where free speech goes to die.
UN to Refine ‘Tools’ to Tackle ‘Disinformation’ and ‘Hate Speech’
According to their own documents, this isn’t just about gathering ideas. It’s operational. They’ll be refining “tools and approaches” for tackling so-called disinformation and hate speech. And those tools won’t sit in a dusty filing cabinet; they’ll feed directly into a formal UN report due in March 2026. That report will be used to pressure governments, tech platforms and media into aligning with whatever “truth standards” the United Nations decides are acceptable.
This is how they work. No guns, no votes, just slow suffocation, one policy, one platform, one speech guideline at a time.
And let’s not pretend they don’t know how vague it all is. They won’t clearly define what “disinformation” even means. Not because they can’t, but because the ambiguity gives them cover. When truth becomes subjective, anyone can be labelled a liar. That’s how you shut people up without ever saying you banned them.
And I’ve lived it.
There was a time, not long ago, when government agencies in Australia tried to censor my social media posts. Why? Because the posts were causing people to call in and protest against a government decision. Too many phone calls, too many upset bureaucrats. Apparently, the problem wasn’t misinformation; it was that the system couldn’t handle being challenged. So they tried to make the problem disappear. Classic playbook.
And now they want to roll that playbook out globally.
The UN’s push didn’t come out of nowhere. It traces back to António Guterres’ 2023 Policy Brief, where he warned that digital platforms are being “misused to subvert science and spread hate.” He called it a “clear and present global threat.” Not corruption, not tyranny—speech. The man wants a global Code of Conduct to govern digital platforms, enforced not by voters or parliaments, but by faceless bureaucrats and UN committees.
You didn’t vote for this. Nobody did. That’s the point.
Global Control to Undermine National Sovereignty
The model they’re copying is the European Union’s Digital Services Act. It gives Brussels bureaucrats sweeping power to force tech companies to remove anything they decide is “harmful.” No clear definitions, no meaningful appeals, just top-down control. The United Nations want to apply that model everywhere, using international “norms” and soft law to bypass national sovereignty entirely.
And who’s helping set the rules? China, Iran, Venezuela. Authoritarian regimes with zero respect for freedom of speech are now shaping global standards for “information integrity.” That alone should discredit the entire operation. Instead, it’s swept under the rug.
Even Elon Musk, who has more to lose than most, has spoken out, calling bluntly to “Defund the UN.” Of course, the media erupted. But they didn’t challenge his facts; they just attacked the man. That’s always how the establishment plays it. Discredit, don’t debate.
Because this was never about facts. It’s about control.
This system they’re building isn’t designed to foster open debate. It’s engineered to make dissent impossible. If they succeed, every major issue—climate, borders, elections, war—will be fenced in by “acceptable narratives,” and anyone who colours outside the lines will be branded a threat.
Platforms that resist will be targeted. Nations that refuse to comply will be punished. Individuals who speak freely will be treated as dangerous.
The real threat isn’t censorship; it’s the elimination of disagreement itself.
Because once you can’t speak freely, you can’t think freely. And once you lose the ability to think, you’ve already lost everything else.
The UN isn’t just drafting policy. It’s laying down ideological battle lines for the future. And that quiet little workshop on June 12, that’s where the next stage begins.
