Snipers on the Roof, Soldiers at Synagogues: How Did Australia Get Here?
Chris Minns says that “confronting” security measures are needed — but the prospect of police snipers and soldiers on Australian streets forces deeper questions about government failures and national decline.
The NSW Government will deploy police with long-armed firearms at New Years Eve events and are considering stationing soldiers outside Jewish schools and synagogues.
Premier Chris Minns told journalists the scenes would be “confronting for some people”.
Meh. It’ll only be confronting for those of us who can still remember Australia.
Minns said…
“But the truth is, we want to make sure that they’re in a position to send a message that security is the No. 1 obligation of any government.”
Which begs the question, if security is the number one obligation of any government, what the hell have Minns’ federal colleagues been doing these past few years?
How does importing ISIS brides square with security as the number one obligation of any government?
How does handing out tourist visas to Gazans match up with the government’s obligation to prioritise security?
But here’s the real question that needs to be asked of Chris Minns, and certainly of our Prime Minister…
Why shouldn’t Australian’s find snipers stationed on grandstand roofs at the MCG confronting?
Why shouldn’t Australians be unnerved by Rambo cops at New Years Eve festivities on Sydney Harbour?
Why shouldn’t Australians think having the army posted outside Jewish places of worship represents an utter failure of governance in this nation?
Would Chris Minns and co kindly explain to the rest of us how we arrived at this point?
Where Did the Old Australia Go?
I remember an Australia where none of this was necessary.
Where did that Australia go?
And have we given up on ever getting it back?
Must we all now just get used to living in a police state because we suddenly — inexplicably — have neighbours who might want to include us in their jihad menu?
Here’s an idea…
Rather than accepting this state of affairs and deploying the army for domestic policing, why don’t we instead arrest and where possible deport the people who are terrorising this country?
Rather than having the army post soldiers outside Sydney’s Grand Synagogue, why don’t we instead have the RAAF prepare a Hercules transport plane for the first lot of deportations?
Actually, scrap the Hercules. Make it a C17. They’re faster. And they take twice as many hate preachers.
That’s a use of the military I think we’d all support. And far from confronting, it would be comforting to most Australians.
Avoiding the Root Cause of Our Problems
Deploying soldiers at Jewish sites to protect the safety of Australians is like putting a bandaid on cancer.
What an indictment on the federal government that the risk to Jewish Australians is so high we now have state premiers seriously thinking about engaging the armed forces to protect citizens.
Just on that, you’d think that engaging the army for domestic security purposes would be a question for the Prime Minister.
And then you remember that our PM is Anthony Albanese.
Say no more.
I’ll finish with one more question…
How long does Chris Minns propose that we keep the army on the streets?
Weeks?
Months?
Years?
Forever?
How long before we end up looking like some fractured, failed Middle Eastern or South Asian country where military guards patrolling streets are the norm?
The situation in this once blessed country is now beyond ridiculous.
Our politicians — even the best ones like Chris Minns — will do everything in their power to avoid ever mentioning the root cause of our problems.
And the longer this drags on, the more the root cause is forgotten and we are all caught up in their fog of obfuscation and misdirection.
That is, of course, the Federal Labor Government’s plan. A plan the compliant left-wing media (ABC et al) is more than willing to aid and abet.

How did Australia get here?
Through a Prime Minister whom himself was and is a Pro Palestinian Hamas supporter. Who himself over the years marched in the protests against Israel and spoke at them over megaphones, was glad to meet Yassar Arafat, wears antisemitic tshirts, recognises the Palestinian state and Hamas, gets openly praised by Hamas for doing so. He is antisemitic, there’s no ifs. That’s why he doesn’t want a royal commission, that’s why he side steps openly calling out Islam for its violent ways, that’s why he takes days to respond and when he does it’s weak and pathetic. Thats why whenever he looks like he is saying something against antisemitism he follows up with Islamaphobia comments as if they suffer equally from hate. Equating the Muslims with our Jewish communities and what they are suffering from antisemitism. I have said it before “Those who don’t condemn are” and our PM is one of Those!
There is footage of him attending Anti Israel protests at the time Israel had undergone suicide bombings in Israel with him openly supporting Palestine the very place the suicide bombers came from blowing up buses and civilians.
This is how we got here, through Anthony Albanese the Pro Palestinian Hamas and anti Israel antisemite prime minister. How did we get here indeed! The answer is right in front of our face and Australia voted him in.

Dear James
The root problem is
DIABOLICAL RACISM!
Root cause of the Holacaust was extreme Racism
Look at Britain !!
Australia WAKE UP!!
Australia has strict laws against racism in this country which includes those who outwardly promote and support it.
which points directly to Albanese Wong etc
Our Prime Minister is a Racist!!
Somehow our LAW should hold him accountable
I dont hear anyone talking about this!
See how this word is used so loosely these days to intimidate and silence people.
LETS CALL RACISM WHAT IT IS STARING US IN THE FACE AND NOT CALLED OUT
Tragedy that we now live in a Police State. Once unthinkable and it is only going to get worse. In Federal Parlt. brave Patriots like Jacinta N. Price and Pauline Hanson who both draped themselves with the Australian flag on official “Flag Day “were told that these should be illegal in Parlt . as they were “props “. Police snipers and soldiers on the ground frighten me. James raises a lot of legitimate questions about their use . The solution he proposes is simple and effective. If you value your life and that of your family and the survival of our country, keep up the Rage and sign the various Petitions demanding a Royal Commission. Albanese is proposing that Australia have 4 year Fixed terms for govt . and more MPs. This way he can stay in power “forever ” with no accountability and more parasites doing nothing of value for our country. Say NO !
Your article says it all, where is the old Australia. Send all these radicals back to their own countries, We don’t want them here.
Thanks James for your article. The Australia that my grandfather, his brothers & my father-in-law fought for is quickly disappearing. We now are beginning to align with our enemies – hamas, iran, communist china and moving away from our friends the USA, Israel, etc. Why don’t other Muslin counties give visas to the people of Gaza? Why are we so stupid? Your idea about deporting all preachers of hate is a great idea, as well we should send Sn Wong, Tony Bourke & the PM with them, not as Politian’s but as private citizens & see how they get on in the hands of those they are supporting.
Thanks again & keep up the fight. WAKE UP AUSTRALIA before it’s too late.
