Day 1: Australia’s Only Hope — The Gospel of the Kingdom
Intention
To have certain conviction that the greatest and only real hope for Australia is the gospel of the kingdom.
Scripture
“Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.”
– James 4:8a
Reflection
The only real hope for Australia is the good news of the kingdom.
As a nation we are on a trajectory away from God and his Word that leads to death and destruction.
To change the current trajectory, Australia needs a revolution in the hearts of its people. No political party, false religion, sporting team, or vain philosophy can bring the real change that is needed.
The gospel of the kingdom (Matthew 4:23; 24:14) is the core message preached by Jesus and later by his disciples, announcing that God’s reign has arrived on earth through him, offering salvation, redemption, and a new ‘upside-down’ value system.
His kingdom encompasses both the current spiritual reality of God’s rule and the future, literal restoration of the world.
Drawing closer to God is an intentional, daily pursuit achieved by cultivating a personal relationship with him. We do this through regular Bible study, consistent prayer, and time for worship.
Drawing near to God brings profound spiritual, mental, and physical benefits. Above all, it creates a closer, more intimate relationship with him, which results in peace, joy, and divine guidance. We gain the strength to handle life’s challenges and his comfort in times of distress, ultimately providing a fulfilling, purposeful life as sons and daughters who serve the King of kings. Crucially, we become more like Christ through this process (Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 5:1).
When we approach God with confidence (Hebrews 4:16), we can ask for righteousness, peace, and divine intervention in national crises, trusting that God’s presence will bring grace, hope, salvation, repentance, and national transformation.
We can ask with confidence because Matthew 28:18–20 commissions us to change nations. Jesus has already given us all the authority to do this!
We encourage you to personally reach out to at least five people, and to pray for these five throughout this Passover to Pentecost season. To encourage and equip you in this, as well as journey together, we are praying each night on Zoom at 8 pm (AEST) until the Day of Pentecost (24 May). Please join us in this special season.
Australia desperately needs the Lord! We need to pray. We need to intercede for Australia. We need to proclaim his gospel.

Prayer
Dear Father in Heaven,
We are here to stand in the gap for our land before you. We confess our sin of putting our own will above yours, which you have laid out in your Word. Forgive us for losing sight of being your body to the world. Please purify our hearts.
We pray for a national revival and spiritual healing. Please heal our land. We pray for your peace and blessing to be poured upon Australia according to your mercy.
Help us to put on the armour of God daily, stand firm, and commit to praying for our families, communities, and nation.
Help us shine the light of God’s love and mercy, never losing sight that our struggle is not with other people but against the spiritual forces that influence us.
We pray for revival and spiritual awakening to sweep throughout Australia, Oceania, and the world.
B’shem Yeshua (in the name of Jesus),
Amen.

Thanks Kym …Amen to the Gospel as only hope for Australia
Great Devotion
Wonderful exultation Kym. Hit the nail on the head.
Yes Kym.
It is becoming more obvious day by day, we’re in a lot of trouble.
He is our only hope!
Be it that our leaders and Politicians find Him, or a great spiritual awakening takes place in the populace.
Thanks.
Absolutely agree fellas, I’d like to share this prayer to:
Father open our hearts to you and to one another.
Reconcile and heal our peoples, the black man and the white.
Make us thankful for what we have and who we are and give us courage, resilience and faith in the face of adversity.
Give us a vision for our country; many peoples but one nation where justice and mercy prevail and
righteousness exalts our land.
Give us the independence and freedom to be that peculiar people “Aussy’s” who’s desire it is to serve the Lord their God
and to love their mates as themselves. Let your spirit rest upon us Lord
The spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of council and might, the spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord.
Help us Lord so that your people who are called by your name will humble themselves,
and pray and seek your face and turn from their wicked ways that you may hear from heaven, forgive our sin and heal our land.
Father there is none other that can help us; for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory.
Oh Australia! My country! Her very name is music to me. God bless Australia!
In that name above every name, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
