Two new parliamentary bills aim to restore biological sex definitions in Australian law, as advocacy groups and politicians push back against gender identity legislation introduced over a decade ago.

The Australian Family Coalition (AFC) is defying claims that acknowledging biological reality is “far-right” activism.

Damian Wyld, AFC’s director, is encouraging Aussies to back two private members’ bills put forward in the Senate and House of Representatives.

The bills are a direct response to Sall Grover’s mid-May case dismissal, which saw the Federal Court assert “women can have a penis”, LGBTQ+, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) ideology.

A Decade of Legal Time Bombs

Exhibit A:

The AFC is facilitating an avenue for concerned voters to tell senators they support the restoration of what it means to be a woman in the Sex Discrimination Act.

The upper and lower house bills will seek to overturn Julia Gillard’s 2013 decision, which overruled biology by removing biological reality from Australian law.

Under Gillard, the terms man and woman were deleted from the original 1984 law in favour of sexual preference and gender identity.

This also negatively impacted the terms husband and wife, and saw “opposite sex” replaced with the more ambiguous term “different sex.”

As defined by the Gillard Labor government, gender identity is,

“The gender‑related identity, appearance or mannerisms or other gender‑related characteristics of a person (whether by way of medical intervention or not), with or without regard to the person’s designated sex at birth.”

Referring to how detrimental these changes would end up being, AFC asserted in a newsletter last week that it’s not like Australians weren’t warned.

“Just like the marriage debate in 2017, those who tried to warn about these things called ‘consequences’ were drowned out,” explained Wyld.

“Now, more than a decade later, we are seeing the ticking legal time bombs detonate.”

“The Court has effectively confirmed that, under current federal law, biological sex is increasingly subordinate to gender identity ideology.”’

“Most Australians would be compassionate towards people experiencing gender dysphoria,” Wyld added, “but compassion should never require society to deny reality.”

Ideas have consequences, he said, and “when ideology overtakes common sense in law, ordinary people eventually pay the price.”

Calling Out the Ideology

Although AFC has welcomed the political pushback in support of Sall Grover, Wyld said more needed to be done.

“Let’s call a spade a spade,” he declared.

“Biological sex should be defined in law, and the Act’s gender language should be junked entirely to keep this [away from] the courts.”

Wyld then credited Matt Canavan and Alex Antic for trying to fix the Act last year.

That “desire to change the Act has now been vindicated.”

“The issue is getting traction, so now is the time to have your say,” Wyld exclaimed in a second statement released today.

“What a world our children will inherit,” he added, “when you can be condemned merely for saying that a woman is an adult human female.”

This is why the AFC has joined the fight to defend women’s rights.

Packed into that defence is a giant “no” to LGBTQ+ ideology, which asserts that “men can have babies” and that a “man can be a woman.”

This isn’t far-right activism.

The AFC’s backing of biological reality isn’t fascism.

By pushing back on LGBTQ+ lawfare, AFC are fighting a fascist takeover of the Australian judiciary, which punishes anyone who doesn’t erroneously believe and falsely confess that “transgenderism is lord.”

Exhibit B:

Senate and House Bills Take Aim

Committed to changing this, One Nation’s Pauline Hanson will resubmit their 2024 biological reality Sex Discrimination Act (SDA) amendment,

At the time her bill was rejected, Hanson slammed the Senate’s failure to pass it, “shameful, but not unexpected.”

The Labor-Green bloc, she said, didn’t just vote against the bill, “they did so without allowing any debate and without proper regard for normal parliamentary process.”

Independent of the One Nation move in the Senate, fiery Wauchopian MP Alison Penfold just presented her Nationals’ bill to the house.

Penfold said she wanted to “restore clarity to the Act.”

Such as, “a man is a man and a woman is a woman. Sex is biological.”

For Penfold, “women’s rights, and men’s for that matter, should not have to disappear because the law became unclear.”

“A Liberal Democracy Cannot Function This Way”

During her speech announcing the bill to the house today, Penfold protested,

“Our language is defeminised. [Women] now must chestfeed. We are a birth parent, a pregnant person or a lactating parent.

“We are now people who menstruate, cervix havers and have a front hole instead of a vagina.

“What are normally articulate politicians now stumble with word salads to describe what a woman is.”

Adding more proverbial fire, Penfold scolded the systemic erasure of women, stating,

“Our institutions are making decisions not because the law is clear, but because they fear litigation and public backlash. That is not good law-making.

“A liberal democracy cannot function properly when ordinary people become afraid to speak plainly.”

Supported by Nationals leader Matt Canavan, Penfold’s website states that her bill takes aim at “the Sex Discrimination Act, and the amendments implemented by the Gillard Government in 2013.”

These, the Nationals member for Lyne said, “have created a conflict that allows the rights of women to be usurped.”

“The Parliament created this problem, and the Parliament should fix it with clear and workable laws.”
