Charlie’s Been Tamed
Wrongthink at the ABC: Charlie Pickering’s 72-Hour Turnaround.
Charlie Pickering has been tamed.
Earlier this week, the ABC star was critical of the network’s decision to employ Grace ‘Globalise the Intifada’ Tame.
He told Rebel News the move was “problematic”.
But yesterday he opened his radio show by insisting that he was “a big fan of Grace Tame”.
It’s hardly surprising. Members of the progressive Left have been attacking him on Twitter non-stop since he criticised the move to hire Grace Tame to front a podcast.
This was Pickering yesterday:
“On Tuesday, there was a protest outside the ABC here in (Melbourne’s) Southbank by a group critical of the ABC and alleging editorial bias.
“I headed out to hear what they had to say and interview people in the hope of listening to their concerns and perhaps airing their views on this program.
So far so good.
But then Pickering claimed he was … ambushed????
“Unfortunately, I was ambushed by a known provocateur and pressed into a conversation that was not planned and that I definitely had no intention of being a part of.
Ambushed? By a guy with a microphone and a simple question?
You’re kidding me.
Charlie Pickering is a highly experienced media professional. It was no ambush.
As for being “pressed into a conversation that was not planned” …
Er, he was asked a question by Avi Yemeni of Rebel News.
And Pickering proceeded to engage in a highly entertaining but respectful conversation with Avi Yemeni, sorry, I mean to say with the “known provocateur”.
I watched the whole interview and, to be fair, I thought Avi interrupted Charlie Pickering far too much.
Charlie, for his part, kept his cool and was unfailingly polite. He came out of it well.
“I would never have agreed or planned to be interviewed by that person, and to say so misrepresents me and the full context of the situation.”
But Charlie did agree to be interviewed by engaging in a long conversation in front of microphones and cameras. No-one made Charlie Pickering talk to Avi.
Pickering continued,
“I am very disappointed there is a suggestion I am against Grace Tame, or that she is not an appropriate host of a podcast about autism. This is simply untrue.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Grace Tame. She’s an outstanding advocate for those on the autism spectrum, for survivors and for women and for all of us.
“I’ve also admired her contribution to public life in Australia and expressed that support on The Weekly many times.”
Hang on a second.
On Tuesday, Pickering said her employment at the ABC – in light of her denial that any Jewish women were raped on October 7 and in light of her calls for an intifada against Jews in Australia – was “problematic”.
But yesterday he explained,
“I was a little naive and I will learn from that … but whatever beliefs I may hold on any particular issue, it cannot be said I have a problem with or would in any way have gone after Grace Tame.”
It appears Aunty had a few harsh words with Charlie.
George Orwell would be proud.

The Church is wimpy, and it's destroying the nation. That's the blunt assessment of Rev. Chris Wickland, a UK clergyman who refuses to soften the gospel for perceived cultural acceptance. And he has a point. From the rise of "woke" institutional Christianity to the abdication of prophetic witness, the modern Church has traded its backbone for a desperate attempt to attain a disappearing seat at the table.

Questions on the environment produced the most lopsided results of any category tested, with every single model favouring climate concerns over growth. Removing one model’s “safety” layer moved its religion score from secular-leaning to neutral.

We're told that progressive politics equals compassion, inclusion and kindness. But shocking reactions to Ann Widdecombe's murder — celebrating her death and hoping she died in extreme pain — reveal the socialist left's blatant 'hate speech' hypocrisy and disturbing double standards of the highest degree.

His dancing steps are impressive. Well pivoted Charlie.
Charlie is now the ABC’s darlin’.
Sad.
Neither the ABC nor Tame understand or appreciate the values on which this nation was founded. Who will listen to either for the Truth will always be subjected to personal idiosyncrasies and variability. Sad but true.
The ABC has become a marxist propaganda outfit.
Because Charlie spoke to Avi Yemeni, he had to subsequently distance himself from it as Avi opposes everything the ABC now stands for. As do most Aussies.
