10 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Babies Born Alive but Left to Die
On Wednesday night, the Canberra Declaration officially launched our prayer campaign for babies born alive and left to die after an abortion.
We were honoured to have 10 special guest speakers, including the Hon Llew O’Brien MP for Wide Bay, Queensland.
Mr O’Brien is scheduled to introduce the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2026 into federal parliament on Monday, 17 August. During the official prayer launch Llew revealed:
“These little people are exactly that. They are little human beings, created in the image of God. And they are the most vulnerable people.
“As a Christian I have a duty to look after them.
“I was a policeman before I entered parliament. Going into that job, I swore on a Bible that I would protect life. That oath doesn’t end with the police.
“This bill… imposes a duty on medical professionals to give the appropriate care to babies who are born alive. There is a definite need for this, sadly.”
Don’t miss Llew’s full comments and presentations from all ten guest speakers in the official launch video below!

We Need a Cultural and Political Shift for Babies Born Alive and Left to Die
In addition to signing up, we ask you to promote this prayer campaign among your friends, family, pastor, church, and prayer networks.
The Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill failed to pass parliament in 2021 and in 2023. For more info read this fact sheet.
The vast majority of Australians support the idea that babies born alive as a result of abortion must be given medical care just like any other child (70% in a Victorian Poll in 2023). But this bill will only succeed as more Australians become aware of it and advocate for these smallest of human beings.
A PowerPoint slide suitable for displaying in churches in now available — click here to download it. If churches across Australia show this slide on Sunday morning, it would make an enormous difference in ensuring that these babies receive the compassion and care they so desperately need.
You can also find the PowerPoint slide, along with the promotional poster, plus much more, on the Babies Born Alive and Left to Die sign up webpage. Click the button below!
Yours for life,
Samuel Hartwich & Warwick Marsh

Babies are not dying AFTER late-term abortions, nor after “failed” abortions. Babies do not complete their late-term abortions until they are dead. Being born alive and left to die is a necessary and approved component of a late-term abortion.
Whether the unique, ensouled human being dies from starvation because “Mummy’s” endometrium has been poisoned by the Pill, or whether he is suctioned out of the womb between 6- 12 weeks, or ripped apart, limb by limb and head crushed by forceps between 12 -19 weeks, or by potassium chloride to the heart and delivered dead after 21 weeks, or by sparing the expense of an obstetrician for the latter, simply induced and left to die alone – each of these is an authentic, legal abortion, where the purpose is to kill the unwanted child..
Each abortion at any stage is cruel, barbaric, monstrous and totally unnecessary. We are a nation of savages and barbarians, most of them in our Parliaments.
Thank you Maryse for documenting plainly what the majority of Australian’s don’t know the facts about.
Thank you Maryse Usher!. “We are a nation of savages and barbarians, most of them in our Parliaments.” Truer words were never spoken!!!!!!
