Day 2: Praying from the Place of Faith
Intention
To pray for the Ekklesia (Church) to awaken from a place of faith as we rest in the Lord.
Scripture
“On that day, when evening had come, he told them, ‘Let’s cross over to the other side of the sea.’ So they left the crowd and took him along since he was in the boat. And other boats were with him. A great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke him up and said to him, ‘Teacher! Don’t you care that we’re going to die?’
“He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Silence! Be still!’ The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Then he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?’
“And they were terrified and asked one another, ‘Who then is this? Even the wind and the sea obey him!’”
– Mark 4:35–41
Reflection
My wife and I were relaxing on the shores of the Sea of Galilee on 21 September 2026. It was warm and calm, with a slight breeze — though I could easily imagine how a sudden storm would make things very difficult in a small boat.
As I sat there, I reflected on the lesson Jesus taught his disciples through the storm in Mark 4:35–41 — and how this lesson applied to praying for Australia.
I felt that the Lord wanted us to understand something: this call to pray for the Ekklesia (Church) to awaken was his idea, his calling — not ours. He is asking us to trust him as we pray, to pray from a place of rest and peace in him, believing that he will deal with the issues we face.
Some of the key issues facing the Ekklesia are:
- The moral failings of the nation of Australia
- Disunity and division
- Complacency and apathy
- Lack of trust and faith in the Lord.
I can’t awaken his Ekklesia! But the Holy Spirit can, and he will, as we intercede for the Ekklesia. He has asked us to trust him to bring his body, his bride, his Ekklesia together for the end time harvest.
As we pray, we are not begging the Lord, but aligning with his calling and purposes. Jesus told his disciples they were going to the other side. They needed to believe him and not the storm. It is a lesson we all learn as we walk with the Lord.
The Lord is coming for a bride victorious and awesome. We are his bride. Trust Yeshua and his word for Australia.

Prayer
Dear Father in heaven,
We lift up Australia to you today. In the midst of every storm, uncertainty and fear, we declare our faith in Jesus Christ, the one who is Lord over the wind and the waves.
Lord Jesus, speak your word over Australia: “Peace, be still!” Calm the storms that rage across our nation and bring peace to troubled hearts.
Awaken your Church, Lord. Stir us from fear into faith, from silence into courage, and from complacency into prayer. Let your people stand firmly upon your Word and boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Holy Spirit, move powerfully across Australia. Bring repentance, revival and spiritual awakening. Draw families, communities and leaders toward truth, righteousness, mercy and the saving knowledge of Jesus.
We declare with faith: Jesus Christ is Lord over Australia.
Though the storm may seem strong, our God is the creator of everything.
B’shem Yeshua (in the name of Jesus),
Amen.

Prayer Points for October 2026
We are praying for the Church to:
- Awaken to her first love for Jesus (Ephesians 5:14; Revelation 2:4).
- Awaken to evangelism so that millions will trust in Christ (John 3:16; Proverbs 11:30).
- Awakento her prophetic voice to the nation (Isaiah 52:1; Matthew 14:4).
We invite you to support this campaign to multiply prayer in Australia for revival and see millions come to faith in Christ. Every donation to the Canberra Declaration helps us promote prayer and make a stand for family, faith, freedom, life, and the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ.
