Day 29: Now Is The Time
Intention
God wants you to share Christ now.
Scripture
“‘Now is the time,’ [Jesus] said, ‘The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the Gospel.’”—Mark 1:15
Reflection
The first words of Jesus recorded in Mark’s Gospel are all about bringing souls to salvation. This is true of Matthew’s Gospel as well, where Jesus’ first words to the people after He stepped out of the wilderness were, “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” (Matthew 4:17).
Clearly these first words show Jesus’ main theme and message: they are the headlines of all that was to come. They reveal His great mission, and by extension ours — to save souls!
In these last days preceding the Lord’s return, the cry to save souls is going out with renewed urgency: “Now is the time,” [Jesus] said, “The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the Gospel.” (Mark 1:15).
Our challenge is to not only be aware of this call but also to take up the call and declare it with compassion to the lost, with a deep sense of urgency for their souls, young and old, men and women.
The time to preach the Good News is now. The fields are ripe for harvesting now (John 4:35). The Spirit says to preach the Word now (2 Tim 4:2 TLB). Let’s not wait. Now it is high time to awaken and to put on the Armour of Light (Romans 13:11-12).
Let’s get practical. Do you have a burning desire to help Australians come to know Jesus? You can have a clear, compelling, compassionate, complete and proven Gospel presentation at your fingertips. You will be amazed at how readily people will respond. In many cities and towns across Australia, many Christian friends are now showing The Way of Life and leading people to Christ. They are eager to have you join with them in this Life-giving task.
Reports are showing that 1 in 5 people we approach at random will entertain a presentation of the good news as Christian friends show them The Way of Life from their iPhone or Android device. Of these, as many as 45% on average will respond by praying the sinner’s prayer.
Built into the presentation are two programmed messages that help you maintain contact with those who wish to have a copy of the gospel presentation.
Prayer
Father, I know of your great heart to save lost souls. That is why you sent Jesus to live among us and to die on the cross to pay the price of our redemption. He who knew no sin became sin for us that we may be cleansed by His blood and receive the gift of eternal life by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Father, fill me with the fire of Your love to share Jesus with those around me. Grant to me your heart for souls. May I be ready to speak both when it is convenient and when it is not. I pray that you will lay Your hand upon me and anoint me for this task that I may declare the good news with effectiveness and love and lead many to Jesus. I pray these things in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
