Nike and Dylan Mulvaney’s Kiss of Death
Nike has announced massive staff cuts less than a year after signing transgendered menace Dylan Mulvaney to promote their women’s sports bras.
Colour me surprised.
Mulvaney was inexplicably contracted last year as a Nike brand ambassador.
A video promoted online showed him dancing about in his yard, performing mock workouts while wearing Nike leggings and a sports bra.
Unsporting
In a reaction that must have come as an enormous shock to no one but woke Nike bosses, female customers were unimpressed.
Fast forward to Thursday a fortnight ago, when Nike President John Donahoe announced that 1600 staff (2 percent of the company’s workforce) would be retrenched in a move aimed at cutting $2 billion in costs.
He told staff:
“This is a painful reality and not one that I take lightly. We are not currently performing at our best, and I ultimately hold myself and my leadership team accountable.”
You know the old expression. Repeat after me. “Go woke, go…”
