They’re Coming for You Next: The Australian Thought Police
Nation First looks into how the Australian Federal Police is creating a new “Thought Police” unit to declare war on dissent.
You’d better sit down for this because what I’m about to say is not a drill. Australia just crossed a dangerous line. A line that marks the difference between a free nation and a surveillance state. Between a democracy and a regime that decides what thoughts you’re allowed to think.
This week, under the soft media glow of “inclusion” and “social cohesion,” the new head of the Australian Federal Police, Krissy Barrett, unveiled something Orwell himself would’ve called extreme: a nationwide network of “National Security Investigations” teams tasked with rooting out individuals and groups who damage social cohesion.
Not terrorists. Not criminals. Not firebombers. But you. Me. Us. People with opinions the government doesn’t like.
This is happening. Right now. In Australia.
Let that sink in.
- The Australian Federal Police has launched new “National Security Investigations” teams to target behaviours that supposedly threaten social cohesion.
- These teams are not focused on criminals or terrorists, but on ordinary people whose views challenge official narratives.
- The AFP will use surveillance, AI, and international intelligence to monitor Australians’ speech and online activity.
- Vague terms like “hate” and “anti-democratic movements” risk being used to silence political dissent and alternative opinions.
- This shift is framed as public safety, but it marks a dangerous slide into authoritarianism that must be resisted immediately.
Barrett, now proudly calling herself Australia’s top cop, has announced that behaviours (not crimes, behaviours!) will now be investigated and targeted by these new units. That means the AFP is now in the business of deciding which thoughts might someday lead to bad actions, and pre-emptively hunting those who hold them.
Tell me, how is this different from pre-crime policing in some dystopian sci-fi?
How long before questioning vaccine mandates is labelled a behaviour that threatens social cohesion? How long before opposing open-borders immigration policy or radical gender ideology gets you listed as a “hate risk”? How long before simply sharing a video, liking the wrong post, or criticising your MP online puts you in the AFP’s crosshairs?
You know the answer.
Ill-Defined
They’re not even hiding it. Barrett has openly stated that “sovereign citizens,” political agitators, and those engaging in “hate” will be targeted, but conveniently leaves the definitions wide open. Hate… according to whom? And let me remind you: we’ve already seen governments label peaceful protesters and concerned parents as “extremists” in the past.
Do you see the pattern?
This isn’t about protecting Australia. It’s about protecting the narrative.
It’s about ensuring that only approved thoughts are shared, only safe ideas are published, and only state-sanctioned speech is allowed to survive.
Barrett says these new NSI teams will utilise electronic surveillance, AI, and partner intelligence from Five Eyes nations to decode online messages, detect encrypted communications, and monitor Australians deemed a threat to social cohesion.
Think about that. The AFP is investing in AI to monitor your speech.
And while all this is being justified with emotionally-charged language like “antisemitic attacks” and “threats to parliamentarians”, let’s not forget the truth: the much-hyped anti-semitic “terror caravan” in Sydney was a hoax, staged by organised criminals. And yet, we got sweeping new hate crime laws; laws that don’t even require intent to be proven anymore.
State Control
Now, Commissioner Barrett wants to go even further. She’s saying those laws, which carry a mandatory minimum sentence of a year for the non-violent crime of unintentionally but “recklessly” displaying a Nazi symbol, might still not be strong enough.
Mandatory minimums. No intent required. AI surveillance. Pre-crime units. Secret Five Eyes intelligence sharing.
This isn’t law enforcement. It’s ideological warfare.
And it’s not just about religion or race. It’s about politics. The AFP is now openly targeting what it calls “anti-democratic movements.” Translation? Anyone who challenges Canberra’s agenda. Farmers protesting climate laws. Christians opposing radical sexuality programs in schools. Truckies opposing jab mandates. You.
They want obedience, not freedom.
Ask yourself: are you free to speak? Free to protest? Free to challenge the regime?
Because I can tell you right now, if this continues unchecked, you won’t be.
Every email, every Facebook comment, every quiet family conversation could be “behaviour” flagged by some overpaid bureaucrat with a keyboard and an agenda.
We’ve seen this before in communist China, in East Germany, in the Soviet Union.
And now, in Anthony Albanese’s Australia.
So what do we do? We speak louder. We fight harder. We draw the line now.
Call your MP. Demand to know what the hell is going on inside the AFP. Share this article with everyone you know who still believes in freedom. Write to your local paper. Start asking hard questions.

Horrific. Based on current court cases where Christian doctors have been barred from practising medicine due to their views on vaccine mandates and their Christian beliefs on marriage, or where people have been hauled before the courts over their views that men should not be allowed to enter women’s private spaces (physical or on-air spaces) if the men call themselves “women”, and where the investigation into their social media posts has gone back years if not decades to drag up so-called incriminating material; I suppose the AFP’s AI scrolling could well be used to uncover all historical media posts, letters to the editor, letters to parliamentarians, emails to anybody etc. using key words in order to identify and profile people. Whatever happened to this country?
This is crazy stuff!!!!
ancient history .Didn’t you hear of 1984 ? Orwellian theory remember ? His bro and dad were big on the whole set up .Thatcher and Reagan united in 1984 and pledged to build a new world as messengers of their Masters .Contractually obligated America and England to “build the world again” and to ” build back better.
Signed in 1984.

He doesn’t discrimate or favour based on political beliefs or religious associations but on personal works and judges by what is in a man’s heart .Not on his record or social credit score .

Eph 6:12 Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places.
Eph 6:13 That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil, you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing.
