I recently preached through the much-neglected book of Lamentations. Set around the time God’s people were defeated by the Babylonians and subsequently sent into exile, it is a profound expression of godly sorry in the face of severe suffering. What is not immediately obvious to [...]

He’s only played one game since being dumped by the Wallabies for paraphrasing a passage from the Bible but, according to Fox Sports, Israel Folau is already being feted as the top contender to take out Super League’s Man of Steel. Lee Radford, the coach [...]

Izzy is no longer allowed to play sport in Australia—of every sporting code—and so he has been forced to take up a contract overseas. But that hasn’t stopped a hostile media from relentlessly pursuing him to create a story, even when there isn’t one. Take [...]

Richard Dawkins is the gift that just keeps on giving. Well, at least for us religious types who believe in God and hold to a Judeo-Christian worldview. Dawkins consistently makes the alternative look downright ridiculous. Take for instance one of his most recent tweets on [...]

Back in 2017 I flew down to Tasmania to interview the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Hobart, Julian Porteous. The Archbishop had been brought before the Anti-Discrimination Board simply for producing a booklet outlining the traditional Christian understanding of marriage. But the real reason I went [...]

Both Welcome to Country—said by an indigenous person—and Acknowledgement of Country—which is said by someone who is not indigenous—have become a popular practice in the media, government and even in business. What’s more, Aboriginal smoking ceremonies to ward off evil spirits have become an integral [...]

Izzy Folau is in the news again for saying something offensive. This time it’s not because of something he posted on social media, but what he said in church. If you haven’t done so already, take the time to listen his twelve-minute sermon before reading [...]

While officials in Bali have been busy channelling their inner Turnbull in prosecuting sexual infidelity, the University of Technology Sydney has pursued the opposite goal. Its administration wants to make sure that its students are instructed in explicit sexual material, whether one consents to it [...]

In a sign of just how far Western Civilisation has declined, the most dangerous place for a child to be, is in her mother’s womb. Similarly, if the rest of Australia follows the leftist fad being currently pursued in states such as Victoria, then euthanasia [...]

To use an old Labor slogan, ‘It’s Time’. It’s time that all of the MPs in NSW who claim to be religious, but support the killing of unborn children, should be asked to leave the church they claim membership in. They’re obviously not going to [...]

Anthropologists have classically identified four rites of passage that exist within every culture on earth. The analogy often used—attributed to a French ethnographer, Arnold van Gennep, in 1909—is that of a large house which has a long hallway leading to successive rooms. As such, a [...]

Many people are rightly outraged at just how extreme Alex Greenwich’s “Reproductive Rights Bill” is, which will soon be before the NSW Upper House. It allows for abortion up until the day of birth, on the basis of sex selection, and if the child happens [...]

I was recently re-reading the childhood classic, Horton Hears a Who, by Dr. Suess – it was for research – and was struck by what many others have observed before me. And that is the clear and pertinent analogy to the subject at hand. Because [...]

Normally those who oppose abortion do so on religious grounds, but there is a plethora of reasons why both conservatives and progressives should be opposed to it. For example, Cynthia Isabell has written an excellent article, “How a Formerly Pro-Choice Nursing Instructor Discusses Abortion with [...]

Many proponents of the NSW ‘Reproductive Rights’ Bill—which allows abortion up until birth—are defending the legislation by saying that late-term abortion is rare. But no one advocating for the practice refers to any statistics to back up the claim. And the reason why they probably [...]

I can’t think of a more pathetic display of non-leadership than that of Premier Gladys Berejiklian and her Deputy John Barilaro regarding the ‘Reproductive Rights Bill’ currently before the NSW Parliament. An argument often used in support of legalising abortion is that the alternative leads to women taking matters into their own hands with dodgy backyard hacks. However, the reality is, the opposite is more likely the case, especially regarding the current ‘Reproductive Rights Bill’—a truly [...]
