Intention

The Church needs to wake up, grow up and take back our nation.

Scripture

“The Lord said to Moses, ‘How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them? I will strike them down with a plague and destroy them, but I will make you into a nation greater and stronger than they.’

Moses said to the Lord, “Then the Egyptians will hear about it! By your power you brought these people up from among them. And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, Lord, are with these people and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. If you put all these people to death, leaving none alive, the nations who have heard this report about you will say, ‘The Lord was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath, so he slaughtered them in the wilderness.’

‘Now may the Lord’s strength be displayed, just as you have declared: “The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.” In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now.’

The Lord replied, ‘I have forgiven them, as you asked.’” – Numbers 14:11-20

Reflection

When sin abounds, God lifts His hand off a nation and it opens the door for Satan to come in. Then God gets the blame for earthquakes, plagues etc. No, God is a God of love; Jesus Christ died for all mankind (John 3:16) to walk in the fullness of Him now. (Ephesians 3:19)

It is time for the Church to wake up and grow up and take back our Nation. He has given us all power and authority now; faith is always now.

If we don’t pray, church, and remind God of His Word and promises, our families and nation won’t change. This is the Great South Land of the Holy Spirit. God has done all He is going to do; He has given His church, His bride the weapons to take our nation.

Intercession and the prayers of His Righteous is the only way our land will be delivered from bondage. It took Intercessory Prayer in the Old Testament to deliver the Nation of Israel.

The Holy Spirit always gives me these scriptures for our nation: Exodus 3:13-15. Moses loved His Nation. God’s presence was with Him. We have God’s presence. Moses prayed for an imperfect Nation.

• Love cares
• Love prays
• Love covers

 

Moses laid down his vision, his own will, his own ideas. The people were stiff-necked – this means, rebellious, proud, cold. Moses knew how to pray to change God’s mind.

In Exodus 34:6-9, Moses had found grace in the sight of God. In Numbers 14:17, God was about to wipe out the Nation of Israel. Moses and Aaron cried out for their Nation. You could say we have become rebellious, lawless, proud, hard-hearted in our Nation. Moses cried out and reminded God of what he had promised in Exodus 34:6-9.

God is a:

• Merciful God
• A gracious God
• Longsuffering and abounding in goodness.

We can do the same; we have a better Covenant. We remind God of who He is and His promises, our inheritance and treasures as His Bride; we are His righteous, we have found grace in His eyes.

“Pardon the iniquity of this people, I pray, according to the greatness of Your mercy, just as You have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” Then the Lord said: “I have pardoned, according to your word; but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord” – Numbers 14:19-21

We have God’s Grace, Power and Authority as His New Testament Church.

Prayer

PRAYER FOR THE NATION:

Father, you are merciful, gracious, longsuffering abounding in goodness. I pray, forgive the iniquity of the people of this Nation in Jesus Name.

As New Testament Ambassadors, we have been given the ‘Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven’. Matthew 16:19 says that whatever we bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever we loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

I thank you, Father, we bind the spirit of rebellion and the spirit of witchcraft over our nation. Our nation is loosed from rebellion and witchcraft, in Jesus Name.

1 Timothy 2:1-3 says that we are to pray for our government and leaders. Satan fights daily to take over Nations. We are the only ones with God-given weapons to realign, redesign and shape our nation.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Christ has given us everything – His Name, His Word and His Blood – to fight the good fight of faith. The will of God will not be carried except through intercessory prayer.

“Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance and the ends of the earth for Your possession.” – Psalm 2:8

Father, I thank you that the hearts of the people of this Nation are turned back to You. We pull down the blindness over their minds and we commission them into the Kingdom of God, in Jesus Name. (2 Corinthians 4:4, 1 Kings 18:37, Psalm 67)

PRAYER FOR FAMILY:

Father, we pray for restoration in the families of our nation.

That people make marriage a priority; that they honour You, Father; that they live in agreement and forgiveness. That they live in harmony, peace and unity.

That Jesus be the centre of family. His love be the heart of family. That marriage be founded on Your Word and rooted and grounded in love in the Name of Jesus. (Colossians 3:14, Ephesians 4:32, 1 Peter 3:7)

PRAYER FOR CHILDREN:

“And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” – Malachi 4:6

Father, we thank you that the hearts of the father be turned back to the children and the hearts of the children to the father.

That you give safety and protection to the children of our nation; that they honour their parents, that all will be well and that they will have long life and your salvation.

That the children of this Nation come to know Christ and His love and be His disciples and taught of the Lord, in Jesus Name. (Mark 11:23, Ephesians 6:4, Proverbs 22:6)

Amen.
