What happens to our society when we remove the supporting pillars or load-bearing wall of Christian ethics? Are we destroying the foundations of our common home?

Many years ago, hubby and I decided to make our old home ‘open plan’.

It was where Ivan had been raised, his family home. Back in the late 70s, we purchased it as a deceased estate and began the long task of modernising it.

The 80s came along, as did three small boys. Oh, our need for SPACE!

“I reckon if we open up the doorway and make it wider, it would feel lighter and give us a lot of ventilation,” says Hubby, the music teacher.

Sounded great to me! Let’s do it! Yay, asap!

He then informs me we can’t just do it, as he doesn’t have the tools, etc.

Bad Idea

My absolute ‘brainwave’ hits… our friend Owen has a chainsaw — just cut a hole in the sucker! Problem solved! New architrave and bingo, open plan!

“No, no, no, no, no! I can’t just do that!”

“Why not?”

“Well, for a start, it’s a load-bearing wall!”

Say what? Never heard of it.

It just happens that the wall only holds the roof up!

The Gospel

Matthew Chapter 7 continues to speak to me in this season of rapid change, with the erosion of many core principles we have been brought up to believe in, as well as faith in God’s word.

Jesus speaks directly to us here — it resonates deeply. It challenges me personally. Please allow me to draw your attention to verses 13-14:

“Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only few find it.”

Pressure

If you are like me, the last two years have left us hard-pressed with the attitude, “Go do this, come on, just go do it.”

It’s been an absolute assault on our psyche. If we don’t go along with the party line, we are marked as stupid, selfish, conspiracy theorists.

We have lived by our core principles. This used to be understood by the majority: God gave us the freedom to choose — where to live, whom to marry, even whether to follow God or not, making personal choices according to our conscience and faith — in medicine or schooling, vocation or procreation.

Bioethical Qualms

2021 gave us members of the clergy preaching vaccination from the pulpit. To our eternal shame, it continues every week when shepherds discriminate against their staff, parishioners and potential souls ripe for the harvest.

The very real concerns raised about the link between abortion and COVID-19 vaccines are not spoken about by the Church — why?

The principles of the right to life and the sanctity of life are foundational in my walk with Christ. I was a 17-year-old nurse when I first saw an aborted baby, this potential life, lying in a kidney tray which was presented to me and another nurse trainee, in a pan room at Royal Newcastle Hospital. I won’t forget it.

Modifying the Gospel

Friends, we’ve been knocking out the load-bearing wall of our Christian principles for decades. Many theologians and Bible colleges are preaching a ‘strange fruit’.

The very Gospel capable of changing our human condition is often parcelled up fresh, with fear of offending every letter of the ‘alphabet people’.

This is just one example: “Theologians Claim Christmas Story Normalises Rape“.

Build Your House Upon the Rock

“So everyone who hears these words of mine and acts upon them,
obeying them, will be like a sensible, prudent, practical, wise man
who built his house upon the rock;
and the rain fell and the floods came,
and the winds blew and beat about that house,
but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them
will be like a stupid (foolish) man who builds his house upon the sand;
and the rain fell and the floods came
and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell;
and great and complete was the fall of it.”

Temptation to ‘Toe the Party Line’

1. When have the media, star-studded with celebrities, United Nations Ambassadors, the World Bank and Christian leaders EVER come together with the Government to tout agreement on anything? Yet now they happily push the need for world vaccinations.
2. How much influence is being wielded by the government upon our Churches in Australia, and the Church around the world in general?

Would many Christians disclose what is said to the boards and hierarchy of the denominations?

I know that online services and chats have been monitored for what is being said to parishioners.

I know that the mainline big denominations signed a document called the Micah Accord, basically supporting the governmental ideals of vaccine distribution — not just in Australia.

They received funding from the government in covid relief funds, keeping the wheels turning at a time when tithes and offerings were down — sensible, a life-saver on the surface; but at what price?

A pastor encouraged his flock to phone MPs voicing concerns over the New South Wales Euthanasia Bill. These words were prefaced with the following: “I don’t believe in getting involved with politics.”

This good man might not like it, but the government surely is involved with us!

It’s evident when one looks at places of worship where covid testing is done onsite — a community service? One might well ask, what is the tradeoff here… are there ‘incentives’?

So many denominations are caught up in Woke culture. The Daily Declaration has exposed some of this to the light.

Bravery is Personal — It Pays a Price

Artur Pawlowski fled an Eastern Bloc country — he understands totalitarianism, oppression by the state and all things communist. This Christian pastor has been arrested and vilified by Justin Trudeau’s jackboot regime in Canada.

Yet he remains determined, strong and vocal. He will not succumb or go away silently in fear. Why? Because he has lived it before. He knows what is at stake! The fall of his country was terrible.

He moved to Canada, the Great North Star, because she was free.

The church is cowed by fear in many places. Some deny the bondages wrapped around them by the insistent nudge of governmental honours.

Look at the treatment of this man of God.  He’s holding up the load-bearing wall for Canadian Christianity.

If It Looks Like a Duck, and Quacks Like a Duck…

Valid questions have been asked concerning the role of government influence upon the church. They have closed the doors when people in need, needed! They tell us not to sing, to check in, to mask, to be an example of “Christian virtue”. Our basic human rights have been violated.

The powers-that-be have allowed fear tactics to overtake compassion and care of our fellow human beings — look at suicide rates.

These people, many globalists, are not for building the Christian Church! They are often atheist and proudly committed to the breakdown of the Load-Bearing Wall of society: us.

The Chinese Communist Party has released a list of ‘Appropriate Topics’ for the Christian Church in China; they’re afraid of followers of Christ. They are communist, pure and simple. Because of the power they wield, the CCP can be what they are.

If the NSW government is still monitoring online services, what does it make them?

A bishop in Tuscon, USA, issued directives to his priests NOT to issue religious exemptions for parishioners concerning vaccine mandates. This is very troubling.

The Catholic Archbishop of Brisbane has decided: no jab, no job.

Other churches have segregated their flock according to vaccine status; so much for the open heart of Christianity. Thank God for the wise shepherds operating in love! Don’t remove the ancient boundary markers. These are foundational — the Rock of our Salvation.

Jenga: A game of strategy, but the structure eventually falls.

It’s a fun game, these blocks of wood, all perfectly cut to form a tower. The key to win is simple: keep removing your block, and hope it’s not the one that collapses the structure.

We wait, fingers crossed that it won’t topple on our turn. We don’t know until the piece comes out.

As we embark upon this year, let’s be aware of the talk we hear coming from the ‘progressives’. If it’s anything like the last couple, the emphasis will continue to be: “Only we can keep you safe.”

‘Biderman’s Chart of Coercion’ is well and truly in operation across the western world. It’s the old ‘our way or the highway’ treatment. Add the madness of crowds, and here we are.

We are in a spiritual war. Are we pulling out the bricks that hold the church together? We may have built the Church of Jesus Christ upon the Rock, but have some of the boundary markers been removed by stealth? (cf. Proverbs 23:10, Proverbs 22:28)

¹⁵ Were they brought to shame because they had committed abominations
— extremely disgusting and vile? No, they were not at all ashamed,
nor could they blush [at their idolatry].
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall;
at the time that I punish them, they shall be overthrown, says the Lord.

and ask for the eternal paths, where is the good old way;

Beloved, the Gospel is full of love, faithfulness and mercy. But it’s not a cakewalk. Removing the socially unacceptable parts in the world of woke ideology weakens the whole — it’s Jenga-like.

Going back to church services face-to-face will bless many; others simply won’t return.

However, the harvest is white! Are we going to offer our poor weary nation love and hope without restrictions, or a mere milquetoast supper, devoid of the meat of the Gospel?

How can we go back to normal, and if that’s what we want, why? Is this our safe space?

Do church denominations and leadership kowtow to governmental edicts and coercion, to placate the thirst for power seen across our world?

If we feel fortunate to live here and still be able to worship freely, that’s good, right? What price is being paid for these freedoms?

If the Government board ATAGI has threatened GPs and healthcare workers for speaking out against the vaccine, who else has been threatened, albeit in vague words? God willing, these tactics must be exposed.

Perhaps it’s not as blatantly pervasive as the CCP or Trudeau’s Canada yet.

Luis Palau was holding crusades in Australia not long after we came to Christ. He spoke on TV ads, and this hit home.

“You know the Church of Jesus Christ is only one generation away from extinction…”

How true this is. Chinese communist tactics are blatant. You see them clearly, like a smack in the face. However, when the Church is attacked from the insidious encroachment of strange new gospels within the modern church, or without from political agendas, one thing is certain: damage.

Taking a chainsaw to the load-bearing wall was ill-informed. Knocking out the foundations of the Gospel one new law or mandate at a time cannot reinforce its strength; rather, the ‘Jenga’ principle operates.
