Day 1: Justice for the Unborn
Tens of thousands of Australian lives are stolen each year. The practice of abortion takes the lives of this generation, leaving heaven’s books/blueprints for their lives unfulfilled. “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:16 NIV)
Without hardly any protest or even a second thought, our culture allows this injustice to continue. Ours is a culture that has operated in legalised abortion for the past 53 years. Every child from God is a gift to the earth. The aborted children’s mantles and gifts have been either stolen or lay dormant, “for God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable.” (Romans 11:29 NIV)
Have we aborted some of the greatest liberators, evangelists, entrepreneurs, scientists, and leaders of our time? Have solutions to world crises or inventions to make the world a better place been aborted, as have the children who carried such solutions?
One of the things God hates and that He calls an abomination is mentioned in Proverbs 6:16 (NKJV) as “… hands that shed innocent blood.”
We look to our Lord as He has graciously provided both Justice and Mercy for everyone — it says… “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
Lovingkindness and truth go before You.” (Psalms 89:14)
Prayer
Our Father,
We praise You and Your son Jesus, the King of Heaven, Who suffered and shed His blood for us to pay the price for our sin.
We are so grateful for justice being the foundation of Your throne — now Your precious blood sprinkled on the mercy seat cries out “Mercy… forgiveness” continually for all humanity — Your blood is applied by faith to our Nation today and whenever we confess our sin corporately.
Praise You, Father, for the Throne of Grace where we boldly come to receive mercy and grace, to help shift this nation back from destroying our offspring, to one of rescue and establishing the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. In Your Name, Jesus, Amen.
Prayer Points
- An end to the suffering of babies being aborted and the pain women feel after having an abortion. Cleansing of our nation of the bloodguilt from the shedding of innocent blood. Ask for righteous leaders in every sphere of influence to turn back this nation from a death culture to life for every Australian.
These three current Pro-Life Issues before Parliaments:
- Pray that the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2022 be passed speedily in 2023. This Bill will protect babies who are currently, in most states of Australia, being left to die after a failed abortion. This protection for such babies is currently law in New South Wales (2019) and South Australia (2021) as amendments to the state Termination of Pregnancy Acts. This Federal Bill, if passed, will make this legislation National. Pray for protection for the three Federal Senators Alex Antic (Liberal Party), Matthew Canavan (National Party) and Ralph Babet (United Australia Party) who presented this Bill on 30 November 2022.
- On 28 September 2022, the Federal Senate referred an Inquiry into Universal Access to Reproductive Healthcare (abortion) to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs. This enquiry is all about broadening abortion access and entrenching it into federal law, overriding state laws. Pray that the Lord stops this from occurring.
- The passing in South Australia of the Statutes Amendment (Loss of Fetus) Amendment Bill 2022. Presented by MLC Sarah Game (One Nation). This bill would acknowledge the loss of an in-utero baby due to a criminal act, such as assault of the mother or dangerous driving — offences in their own right. This Bill is about justice and recognition of a life lost. Sadly abortion is not recognised as a criminal offence, but this bill will for the first time recognise the personhood of the unborn child.

The freedom to attend church or sing hymns was never the point. Christianity has always sought to shape culture, transform lives and speak into every aspect of civic life. And that’s precisely the freedom we’re losing in Australia.

I come late in my life to Gods mission Ann. For some of us growing up takes a long time.
Thank you for your work May He continue to bless you your work and your family.
Wonderful start to 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for LIFE!

Thank you Ann for your well thought out and informative article. Praying for the points raised.
Ann, this is so important! I am so pleased you have raised this issue, the more that do the better as I sense that the majority of Australians by a very long way will have no idea about this. The control of the media narrative is so effective that these legal man-slaughters seems to go past without a look or a care.
Thank you Ann for all you are doing to fight for those who haven’t got a voice.
We honour you Ps Ann for your relentless hours of prayers for the fight for justice of the unborn. We come in Agreement with you, the senators and the body of Christ with the prayers and decree justice will be served for the unborn in Australia. Thank you for this prayer initiative!
