Day 21: Following our King
“But thanks be to God,
Who in Christ always leads us in triumph
(as trophies of Christ’s victory)
and through us spreads and makes evident
the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere.”
~ 2 Corinthians 2:14 AMPC
Today we walk the streets of Adelaide, where we follow our triumphant King Jesus Christ, Who has gone before us — we are ambassadors of Christ Jesus, Yeshua and His Kingdom.
Isaiah 6 says: Isaiah saw the Lord in His majestic splendour and the train of His robe filled the temple. Isaiah knew this scene was extremely significant. In those days when the triumphant king returned from battle, he would cut a piece off the robe of the conquered king, and he would add it to his own train to signify his conquest.
The fact that the train of Jesus’s robe filled all the space — the entire temple, brings the powerful revelation that the ascended Christ has conquered every enemy. Jesus our King is revealing to the darkness over South Australia and the nation, that we are His… He has conquered our hearts, and now each of us carries the fragrance of life, eternal life, wherever we go!
As we gather today, those coming to the Walk for Life 2023 in Adelaide or those further away praying with us in Spirit, we are all His spotless, blameless bride. We are the train of His robe as we come as one in Christ for the display of His splendour!
We come to be His hands, to gather the children to Him, to be His feet to crush the enemy that came to “kill, steal and destroy.” We come to be His Ekklesia to govern with His justice and righteousness — we come as His redeemed, we are those spoken of in Revelation 12:11,
“They (the saints) overcome him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.”
We carry in our hearts the hope that 2023 is the year the Church arises to rescue the unborn. That there be significant shifts in our culture, to love and rescue both babies and parents of unplanned pregnancies, to raise up adoptions into Christ-centred homes. That we, the Church, would be those who are the Houses of Refuge, where even the unsaved know they can run to in their time of need.
We thank God for His saving grace, that we are fragrant to Him:
15 Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God.
But this fragrance is perceived differently
by those who are being saved
and by those who are perishing.
16 To those who are perishing,
we are a dreadful smell of death and doom.
But to those who are being saved,
we are a life-giving perfume.
And who is adequate for such a task as this?
~ 2 Corinthians 2:15-16 (NLT)
Worship
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the saints gathering today in Adelaide for the Walk for Life 2023. May those present at the walk and those who have been praying all around Australia be filled with Your glorious presence, carrying, and releasing the fragrance of Christ everywhere.
We welcome You, Holy Spirit to flow through Your people today, revealing Your Son Jesus Christ to those on earth and to those demonic powers trying to maintain the high altars of blood sacrifice over Australia.
Lord, You said I will contend with those who contend with you, and all your children I will save. Lord, in Your mercy and justice, save all our children from the abominations of the shedding of innocent blood. Thank You for Your victorious triumphant procession of the redeemed, walking in white today — Your Body of whom You are the Head.
Lord, this peaceful walk is about Your justice for the unborn and Your mercy over those involved in the horror of abortion — it is also about the consequences of this sin over our nation. Lord, thank You for Your sacrifice on the cross where Your body was broken to make a way to the Father, for all humanity, and Your blood poured out crying mercy and forgiveness. Lord, may 2023 be a year where Your Church, the Ekklesia, governs over Australia in such a way that effective change is established and deliverance from the practice of abortion comes forth. In Your powerful redeeming Name we pray, Lord Jesus, Amen.
Prayer Points
- For Love Adelaide’s Walk for Life 2023, perfect weather, good crowds, safety for all, for seed to be sown and God’s connections for the pro-life movement to flourish across the nation. May it be a wonderful gathering of God’s people to be in oneness with each other and hear God’s heart for the unborn.
- We pray for every state and territory of Australia to come together to stand for life! For hearts to be awakened and every Christian to rally to rescue the unborn as the church rises up to “Walk for Life Adelaide” on 11 February and “March for Life” Brisbane — 22 April, Mackay “March for the Babies” in October, and for other states to join in and hold rallies or walks in their cities.
These three current Pro-Life Issues before Parliaments:
- Pray that the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2022 be passed speedily in 2023. This Bill will protect babies who are currently, in most states of Australia, being left to die after a failed abortion. This protection for such babies is currently law in New South Wales (2019) and South Australia (2021) as amendments to the state Termination of Pregnancy Acts. This Federal Bill, if passed, will make this legislation National. Pray for protection for the three Federal Senators Alex Antic (Liberal Party), Matthew Canavan (National Party) and Ralph Babet (United Australia Party) who presented this Bill on 30 November 2022.
- On 28 September 2022, the Federal Senate referred an Inquiry into Universal Access to Reproductive Healthcare (abortion) to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs. This enquiry is all about broadening abortion access and entrenching it into federal law, possibly overriding state laws. Pray that the Lord stops this from occurring.
- The passing in South Australia of the Statutes Amendment (Loss of Fetus) Amendment Bill 2022. Presented by MLC Sarah Game (One Nation). This bill would acknowledge the loss of an in-utero baby due to a criminal act, such as assault of the mother or dangerous driving — offences in their own right. This Bill is about justice and recognition of a life lost. Sadly abortion is not recognised as a criminal offence, but this bill will for the first time recognise the personhood of the unborn child.
Pray that abortion will not increase in Australia. The ACT Government has announced it will provide free abortions from 2023. There are also calls for taxpayers to fund abortions nationwide, and for nurses to be allowed to give out abortion pills.
