The Month of May Ends in a World-First Climax!
This Sunday, 28 May, is the Day of Pentecost, the celebration of the birth of the Church. The Scripture records that 3,000 were added to the Church that day – 3,000 Jewish people (Acts 2:41).
This Sunday, 100 million believers will be praying for the revival and renewal of the Jewish people. Believers speaking over 110 different languages and from countries scattered all over the earth.
To say that this is history-making and world-first would be a severe understatement. Never before has the Church come together like this in unity to pray for the Jewish people.
Scripture promises that those who bless Israel will be blessed (Gen 12:3). What blessing from God will come to the Church as a result of this Sunday? We eagerly await to see! One thing is certain: God will honour His Word!
Like Paul, we are praying for the salvation of the Jews (Rom 10:1). That the blindness hindering Jewish people from seeing Jesus the Messiah will be taken away (Rom 11:25; 2 Cor 4:4). And as David prayed, that there will be peace in Jerusalem (Ps 122:6). And much more! The following video explains more of the background and focus of this coming Sunday:
We have already witnessed answers to prayers for Israel during this month of May. God has heard them!
As previously reported on the Daily Declaration, during a six-day period, the Iranian-sponsored Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) fired over 1,200 rockets into Israel from Gaza.
Amazingly:
- There have been minimal casualties in Israel – only two Israels have been killed, and less than 30 injured.
- Minimal civilian casualties in Gaza. (Some rockets fell in Gaza after being launched from Gaza.)
- The six-day mini war united the divided country (the situation was quite desperate). Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu’s government now has an increased approval rating.
- The annual flag parade for Israel’s Jerusalem Day passed without serious violence.

National Day of Prayer and Fasting: May 27
And don’t forget that this Saturday (27 May) is the National Day of Prayer and Fasting.
The purpose of this day is to see the Church humbly coming together as one in prayer and fasting, to see God glorified in our nation, contending for revival and transformation for Australia.
The theme for 2023 is ‘love and unity’. The scriptural theme is found in John 13:34–35:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples.”
We invite you to join a local celebration in your area or to join the all-day Zoom Prayer call. Please register at the National Day of Prayer and Fasting website. All the details are available there. Encourage your friends and church members to do the same.
Thank you again for all your prayers and support this month.
Yours for a mighty month of May,
Warwick Marsh & Samuel Hartwich
