Indigenous Friends of Israel Call for Senator Lidia Thorpe’s Resignation
Poster girl for Hamas, Senator Lidia Thorpe, should resign. Her latest radical chic is a green Hamas-style headband in Arabic, drawing attention to her ill-conceived support of their cause.
Outrage over her selfie wearing the headband on X led to her removing it less than 24 hours after posting it. Many complained about her ‘dressing up’ as a terrorist, and that it was offensive and divisive, so she apologised, saying she was pushing for a ceasefire.
Strangely, the Arabic script on her headband read ‘I love chocolate milk’, with the caption on her post ‘I wholeheartedly support this message. I hope you do, too.’
Revisionist History
Thorpe is pushing a narrative that the Jewish people are colonisers and occupiers of Israel, ignoring the fact that it is their ancient homeland, and they are Indigenous to Israel, with a 4,000-year history there.
Many nations invaded and colonised the land of the Jews over thousands of years. Assyrians, Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Byzantines, Arabs, Crusaders, Mamelukes, Ottomans, and Britain, to name some of them, but there was always a Jewish presence in the land.
When Israel reformed as a modern nation in 1948, it was decolonising the land that had been a British mandate under the League of Nations, which became the United Nations. Australia presided over the vote admitting Israel to the United Nations in 1949.
Hamas is not pushing for a Palestinian state that would include Gaza and the West Bank (Judea and Samaria). It wants the whole of Israel, as its maps show, and it wants the destruction and removal of the only Jewish state in the world. It also wants the removal of all Jews from the Jewish homeland. This is genocidal and is in the Hamas charter.
Jewish Suffering
About 800,000 Jews were traumatically made refugees from Arab lands in the Middle East in 1948, losing their homes, businesses, jobs, nationalities, etc. So, it was not just the Jews of Europe who survived the Holocaust who made Israel home.
Thorpe’s misguided attempt to align the Blak Sovereign Movement with the Palestinian cause is flawed. The Palestinian people are not Indigenous to Israel.
The Jews have never invaded any land in all of history. They simply returned home, joining those who had never left.
Senator Thorpe spoke last Monday at a “free Palestine” rally in Melbourne, asserting that the violence in Gaza was like the attempted genocide of Indigenous Australians by European settlers.
There is no comparison here. Yes, Australia was colonised by British settlers, and yes, there was loss of life despite instructions otherwise by the British crown. Israel instead is defending itself against an invasion and massacre by Hamas on October 7 and trying to ensure that Hamas cannot keep its promise to keep repeating October 7. Also, the captives taken by Hamas in a war crime need to be freed.
It seems Lidia Thorpe likes dressing up to make a point. She arrived in a pro-Palestine dress at the mid-winter parliamentary ball earlier this month with the genocidal phrase “from the river to the sea” embroidered down the front. A blood-stained look at the bottom of her dress completed the picture.
It is time for Senator Thorpe to resign. This was not the platform she was voted in on, having resigned from the Greens last year, supposedly a representative on environmental issues.
“Not my senator,” many Indigenous and other Australians are saying about Senator Lidia Thorpe.

Lidia Thorpe would benefit by going to live in Gaza for a time and then visit Iran for a time and then Yemen and Lebanon. She could then learn that Iran has ‘proxies’ in place that pay for the Hamas, the Hezbollah, The Houthis and ISIS to invade more peaceful countries and to use them fight for the establishment of radical Islam to take over the countries they have selected to conform to the Koran.
The Shia religion of Iran has these beliefs:’ Shia Muslim believe that Prophet Muhammad under the command of God chose Ali as Caliph (or Successor) and publicly declared it during his last sermon after Hajj at Ghadir Khumm. Shi’a Muslims believe in the teachings of the Qu’ran and the Prophet Muhammad’s family, whom they call the Ahl al-Bayt.’
By visiting Gaza Lidia will learn that the Hamas were elected in 2015 after the land was given to the Gaza people by Israel to live on with a view to living side by side in peace. The Gaza people (many were displaced refugees from Arab countries ) were to continue to grow crops and establish families but the Hamas used the USA and EU money to build tunnels for war purposes for 17yrs and neglected to feed the population or to educate them, and instead educated children in UN and other schools to hate the Jews and kill them (even at a young age they children were indoctrinated)
Lidia will learn Hamas charter is based on war with Israel and irrevocable: They are to kill all Jews in order to please Allah and take over the nation of Israel (a democratic state which was established by the UK and nations in 1948 after WW2. (Earlier in Genesis God made a covenant with Abraham to give him the land of Cannan (Israel and surrounding area) for his chosen people and to bless the all nations. She will learn that all who don’t conform to the Shia faith are considered infidels who will face the treat of death or penalties (including Christians and Westerners)
Overall, Lidia will start to understand that she has lauded and approved of the Hamas. She will learn that on Oct 7th and thereafter the Hamas have raped young and older women, cut off body parts of women and men, killed children in front of parents and vice versa (as Barba said) and covered their tracks by using the UN ….and that they are intent on war till t he day they die. The Hamas have no interest in caring for the Gaza people. No aim to release the hostages of Israel and are intent instead of conquering all who don’t bow to their beliefs.
In Lebanon Lidia will learn that the Hezbollah, with Irans funding, took over a beautiful thriving country by force and made it a war zone for their purposes. The Christians were a maligned and the rest of the population threatened if they did not conform and so they became a platform for the Hezbollah /Iran to invade Israel from the north
Then in Yemen Lidia will see the suffering created by the violent Houthis who have repressed these people and used their country as a platform to fire rockets into Israel (recently into Tel Avi) and to interrupt the worlds trade by using Houthis to hold up and threaten all shipping through the Red sea. The Yemen population were already repressed and already fought poverty and now face a terrible ordeal as they have been over by a fierce fighter group of Shia Muslims and are being turned into another platform for Iran and now their country has become a war zone, since Iran has used them to attack Israel in major cities and in the Red sea area to boycott any traffic and trade related to Israel (and now this involves all nations using the Red Sea).
History of Yemen: “Before Islam, Yemen was a site of competing influence between Christianity and Judaism, with the latter becoming the religion of the Yemeni state during the sixth century. Even after Islam became the majority religion in Yemen, Jewish communities continued to exist throughout the country in rural and urban areas alike.” (In the 1990s Yemen was taken over by Muslims of the Shia background.)
Lidia cold also visit the Syrina border and learn how the Russian, and Syrian and other troops (ISIS and sometimes Hezbollah) have banded together to fight Israel form the northern border.
May Lidia have her eyes opened and be prepared to take a look at the whole picture and history of the Midde east and realize she has chosen to worship the values of Hamas. She has a chance to open her eyes and heart to what is really occurring and can see the footage the Hamas have used to rejoice over their barbarity.
May God open her eyes and let her see who she is really standing up for. May she see too that most indigenous people respect the God of the Bible and agree with the values of these Christian values. I have met and worked with indigenous first nation people for over 40 years and know their hearts are turned to the Living God; they don’t want to practice the devil’s work or to follow sinful practices. They needs senators who are aligning with their our values, thoughts and needs- not someone who is standing for the barbarism of the Hamas.

As a die hard traditional Conservative, I have no time for Lidia Thorpes, and as a Christian and I am deeply grieved at how Christians in the West ignore the plight of Palestinian Christians under the Zionist occupation and also how they willfully ignore the many acts of Zionist terrorism carried out against the British during the Mandate including the bombing of the King David Hotel, and the sending of letter bombs to British citizens in England, if you go through the pages of British HANSARD you will find numerous examples of British politicians publicly denouncing the numerous acts of Zionist terrorism, including by Winston Churchill. A true Christian unashamedly condemns all terrorism, not just some!
