That’s Not Policing, That’s Public Relations!
Australia’s leaders and media refuse to confront reality, insisting Islamist terror has nothing to do with Islam—an exercise in denial that undermines security, accountability, and public trust.
Our lives are in the hands of moral cowards.
Not cowards in the foxhole sense. No one is asking these people to storm a trench. Just cowards of language, logic, and basic intellectual honesty — the most dangerous kind when they occupy positions of authority.
Last week, Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett informed the nation that the slaughter of 15 Australians by Islamic jihadists had nothing to do with Islam.
During a press conference, Barrett said the jihadists had been “aligning themselves with a terrorist organisation, not a religion”.
Barrett said this standing beside the Prime Minister who, naturally, remained silent.
The statement itself is a marvel. It asks us to believe that a group called Islamic State, whose fighters shout Islamic slogans, swear Islamic oaths, cite Islamic texts, and explicitly say they are acting for Islam, somehow have no connection to Islam.
Unquestioned
When it was later revealed that the jihadists had made a video swearing their allegiance to Islamic State, the AFP boss returned for a second helping of nonsense:
“We know ISIS distorts and corrupts Islam, which leads to radicalisation”.
How does ISIS distort Islam?
Could Krissy Barrett elaborate? Provide examples?
Which doctrines are being distorted? Which verses misread? Which traditions corrupted? What parts of Islam does ISIS get wrong, and what parts does it get right?
These are not trick questions. They are the most basic questions any serious person should ask if they are going to make sweeping claims about religion and violence.
But no, not a single journalist in the Canberra press gallery asked Barrett to explain herself.
No follow-up questions. No requests for clarification. No curiosity.
Just obedient note-taking and a quick pivot to the next approved talking point.
And so her assertion that Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam was allowed to go unchallenged.
This is not policing. This is public relations.
Deep Denial
The job of the AFP Commissioner is not to protect Australians from uncomfortable thoughts. It is to protect Australians from being murdered.
That requires clarity about threats, motivations, and ideologies — not the kind of euphemistic fog normally produced by university diversity offices.
By pretending Islamist terror has nothing to do with Islam, our leaders guarantee they will never understand it, never confront it, and never stop it.
Worse, they insult the intelligence of every Australian watching.
We are asked to accept that these killers are motivated by everything except the thing they themselves say motivates them. That their theology is irrelevant, their slogans meaningless, their declarations mere coincidence.
At some point, denial stops being compassion and starts being negligence.
And the press gallery? Spare me.
Journalism used to involve asking questions that people in power didn’t want to answer. Now it’s mostly about asking questions that help them avoid answering anything at all.
When the nation’s top cop makes an assertion this consequential — that an explicitly Islamist terror group has nothing to do with Islam — and no one challenges it, that’s not journalism. That’s stenography.
Barrett should be sacked immediately. And the Canberra press gallery should be replaced with people who are actually curious.
Appeal for the Bondi Terrorist Attack Victims
Celebrate Israel, in partnership with the Canberra Declaration and other supporters, have organised a relief fund appeal for the victims and families of the Sydney Bondi Beach terrorist attack.
Our giving team is called Celebrate Israel Australia on the platform and is part of a much larger appeal run on the Charidy giving website. All donations are tax-deductible and will be administrated by the Jewish United Support Fund.
The relief fund will provide direct financial support, helping families begin to rebuild their lives after this tragedy. Assistance is especially needed to cover essential commitments when the family’s primary breadwinner has been killed. Find out more about this appeal on The Daily Declaration here.
Please stand alongside the Jewish community as a visible demonstration of God’s love to them at this critical time of need. So far, far, as of writing, over $17,000 has already been donated, and we prayerfully seeking to raise $100,000.
Please share this appeal button with your church networks and friends.

Personally I believe Albanese and his ministry is Antisemitic and have for a long time. His inaction and sidestepping is deliberate. Allowing Palestinian protests which fly flags and carry pictures of Hamas and Islamic radicals chanting “gas the Jews” “Kill the Jews”. Wearing his antisemitic Tshirt, lack of leadership against the threat of Islam, bringing them into Australia in the hundreds of thousands, bringing the radicalised Isis brides here with their radical children. (There is footage of reporters visiting the places these Brides and children were staying at and all the children were yelling at them throwing rocks and making beheading gestures. That’s what Albanese has brought into Australia. )
Well to me he was marching with them in spirit. Why would one say this? He’s one of them that’s why.

In my opinion Kristy Barrett should be sacked . Have a look at the terrible things happening in Europe. 11 countries in particular have had enough,so, why don’t we learn from France- banned face coverings in public and closed 20 mosques; Belgium has been deporting trouble-makers ;Denmark compulsory Danish language lessons + must integrate ;Switzerland has banned building any more mosques, deports for even minor infringements; Austria has stopped foreign funding of Islamic institutions which are regularly scrutinised; Netherlands scrutinises mosque funding and operations;Germany deports if fail to integrate; Greece deports if fail to integrate; Hungary -anyone who helps them prepare documents to stay in Hungary becomes a declared criminal . Sweden has had enough of the increased serious crime and people on welfare. It demands integration , deports and is paying migrants to leave;Italy deportation policy. Shocking video of migrants going on huge rampage of destruction inside Milan train station . Milan is Italy’s commercial + manufacturing capital, and train connection for northern Italy and other European countries (France, Switzerland, Germany , Austria) . That train station was already a dangerous place in 2010 when we were there! When we have other Mass Murders in Australia will Barrett + Albanese + co. still call these “nothing to do with religion “? Please sign for a Royal Commission into Police, Politicians, ASIO and the teachings of the Islamic religion. They belong in Africa, Middle East and Asia which is where they should be returned amongst their Islamist co-religionists, otherwise we will lose our culture which is founded on Christian -Judeo principles . Our economy is already collapsing under the strain of supporting with welfare these economic migrants. Our violent and serious crime rate has skyrocketed with their Mass Migration as has happened in European countries. Lastest news -a car belonging to a Melbourne rabbi has been fire-bombed . Will Albanese ban matches ?
Don’t know how these people sleep at night.
God help our beautiful country.
Perhaps The Canberra Declaration could send all the excellent articles you have published in the wake of the Bondi massacre that demonstrate so clearly truth about Islam, to every federal and state politician in the land. And to every TV station and major Newspaper as well. There just MIGHT be some politicians, journalists and TV presenters who are interested in speaking the truth.
